So it's the 1st, anyone pick up their '2005 Rugby League Annual' ?

I will be hopefully going to the Newsagents later on, might pick up both if they are there.

Nope, I read right.

The 2004 one is called '2004 Rugby League Annual' 'Big League Special'.

The one with Freddy on the front.

And I will be looking for the 2005 version today hopefully. Sorry for the confusion anyway.

Does anyone else find their choice for the number 1 moment to watch out for next season as a bit lame?

As a matter of fact several of those milestones will occur with only about 4 people being aware of them Id say. That warriors 1000 try one is just stupid.

i'm with you on that.

maybe they should have capped it at five.

some of them are hardly momentous occasions.

the main moment mentioned should be A.Johns for the pointscoring record.

Will this be crockers last year?
I know Menzies wants to go around another year if the body holds up but it may be in England where he has always wanted to play.

:x

It may be his last, he has an option for 2007 in his contract but his current one runs out end 06.

Assuming Toots isn't injured/suspended in the opening 6 weeks, he'll be playing his 300th FG match in Brisbane. I'm not sure what Manly's draw is like but Menzies might also be away from home for his big milestone.

I know the draw is difficult to crank out but its a shame that both Manly and Canberra didn't get 2-3 home games in a block around this time as I think 300 is a massive achievement and should be celebrated in front of a home crowd. Not many guys get to 300!
Without injuries Menzies will be home for his 300th vs storm. But round 11 is the one before origin so if menzies makes the blues side we have a bye in round 12 and round 13 we will be away in penrith so i guess its all if he makes origin or not. Makes origin = No 300th home game. Doesnt make origin = Home 300th

It would be a real shame if both Menzies and Croker weren't playing at home for their 300th games.

I dont think you have to worry about Origin for Beaver... his rep days are over now.

How'd i know you'd bitch about me using common sense Raider? :)

Both the 300 marks and the point scoring record should be up above some of those sh*t marks.

FFS, they even have Lockyers bronco record above the all time record....idiots...the Daily Telegraph of league magazines.

Raiduh, pull your head in. Sure, Joey's pointscoring record wont fill you with complete joy because you hate him with an absolute passion. But FFS even someone like u can see that it should be in the top 3 at the very least.

on a league, hatred aside front, perhaps a top 3, but really, i dont see it as any real big occasion, its not really a mark of a truely great player, he is surpassing Halligan and JT, two IMO pretty ordinary players, but top class goal kickers (maybe a tad harsh on JT). Hatred of johns back in, personally it wont make my top 1000 things to watch out for in 2006

besides the odds of him reaching that mark in 2006 arnt great IMO, it will a take ask for him to achieve that in the season proper if he plays all 26 games... and i dont think i need to descibe the odds of that occuring

I don't want this turning into another Andrew Johns bashing thread however I will say this. If, and yes I'm aware its a big if, he plays the majority of the season, he will break the record btwn rounds 16-18.

indeed, however i fear if he missed anymore then 10 or so games, he will have to wait till 07 to do it... if the injury isnt a reoccuring one that negates an 07
