Rnd 13: vs Sharks

Our pack was improved, especially with Hunt out, but we were against a 2nd rate side. In attack, we ran in numbers for once and looked to make some good metres, but still struggled to get quick play the balls. We were also very flat at times in attack and not hitting the ball at pace. In defence, we still conceded plenty of metres and we just seem to not get the same numbers that other teams get into the rucks to slow them down.

It was an improvement, but we still need more to compete with anyone above us on the ladder. Matthews was largely ineffective and needs to be replaced. Aioli or O'Brien need to get a shot otherwise how do you if they can handle it or not? They would add some size as well.

A fair summary, I would expect some of your comments from the first rounds not half way thru the season. We certainly look we are starting from scratch!

Well, new coach, new halves and after the last 2 months of dismal performances we need to start from scratch again. Obviously once Price lost the players they devolved into just a group of players and not a team.

A valuable 2 points , put us 1 more win away from any spoon talk. Given the strength of the sharks team we were expected to win easily, just glad we did.
I'm not taking anything away from this match, it was a game the cutters would have even won comfortably ... I'm hoping though at the very least the players get some mental confidence out of the match, and also was a good match against inferior opposition to allow Marshall more game time to work on his combinations with the other players...

2 points is 2 points, you can only play what's in front of you...happy that we were Hunt-less... That's my highlight from the match..

That would help our cause against most teams. Get rid of Matthews next and the pack is starting to look more solid.

A convincing win against an awful team and the pleasing thing is we didn't get out of 2nd gear.Still our timing in attack is rusty but will improve ,especially if we can get the quick play the ball going.
We need Ailomai to give us some go forward,don't care if his defence is sus which I think is why he isn't considered but his runs could make up for this.
