Is it a coincidence that Robson had his best game in a long time after his regular halves partner did not play? I think not.

Hope Souths sign him like did Jeremy Smith.

would be highly ironic if they did....and did they sign Jeremy Smith again, or did you just mean the firts time round (they were rumoured to be sniffing him out again now....??)

He missed him like a hole in the head, the whole team looked far better out there without Morts cocking everything up. We actually flowed in attack without Morts shuffling, running sideways and an inside ball to a marked man.

Fantastic game from the little big man. But ffs where has any of that been this entire season. Didn't think he had half that in his bag of tricks. Kicking game was awesome - grubbers, bombs and repeat sets. He ran the ball and had a passing game. Part of me is over the moon but part is pissed as to why he can come out and do that on the back of signing sandow and Roberts.

Agree with both of these.

The key to Robson's game tonight wasn't the signing of Sandow/Roberts... imo it was the freedom of finally not to have to deal with Mortimer as a halves partner.

Robson showed (again) that he has more to offer the club than Morts, and is much better salary value. He'd be a much better 14 than Morts next year, if we can somehow offload the kid and the rest of his contract to another club.

You don't think he had much longer than usual with the ball due to Cronulla (minus their 3 best forwards) being dominated up the middle?

the answers quite simple .... he is playing with lets lead them into a false sense of security and blind them awesomness approach , i just dunno why he saved it for the sharks , twizzle could of gone out there and dominated thats how shit they were

It would have played a part certainly, but I don't think you should dismiss the fact that Robson/ McGuire halves combination turned out our best attacking performance over the past season and a half no matter how you look at it.

His running game in particular was set it aside for me, it's something he is great at and something he hasn't done much of this year. He moved with confidence and with pace, and he wasn't afraid to try different things; ala the little grubber for himself to set up Atkins' second; the pass to get Lasalo into space, and the pass for Ben Smith to score, it was just pure class. That and the kick for Walker!
He did it all tonight and I can't give a bigger wrap to the guy.
