I dont want Green anywhere until he steps up to NRL standard.
He hasnt done that yet. Still just a good reserve grader.

True, but the times he has filled in he hasnt met the standard IMO.
You can see it with his ball play, never looks comfortable, doesnt get the passes away before the defence is on him etc. Maybe he needs more time or maybe he just wont be up to it. You look at a guy like Bukuya who made an impact and looked really comfortable straight away.

coz baz n buster will see him out of there, n he should be in our 17

I agree with you there, but if we take someone out of the halves & Baz or Buster get injured, then we have no depth, and then the guy we have that could be playing halves is now playing hooker.

Bukuya has been able to start on the wing or off the bench as opposed to at 5/8, dummy half or lock where more has been expected in terms of ball playing and directing your team around the park. It is easy for a player to adapt to the NRL when nothing much is expected of you. When y7ou have to come in and be a playmaker in a role you haven't had much time to adjust to you it is highly likely you would struggle.

Green is a very solid player and will only get better over time given the chance to cement a position rather than playing different ones every week.

As it goes, in the semi final against Melbourne he was one of your better players despite the scoreline. He made mistakes but at least he was trying as opposed to a few more senior players who had they stepped up and helped him rather than haging back and hoping someone else would have a dig you might have got over the tryline.

Im not doubting Greens ability, i rate him, i just don't wanna see a potentially very good young half go to waste by playing hooker.

I see Green as the man who will partner Buster in the halves when Baz is gone, i mean Baz only has a few more years left in him.

Bukuya was just one that came to mind. If you are talking about halves then what about Ben Barba and the young Penrith 5/8 Lachlan Coote I think. They just looked up to the mark straight away. Even if a rookie half doesnt star you can still usually tell pretty soon if he is up to the speed of NRL and Green isnt IMO.

As for being a solid player. I want better than solid in the halves. I want x-factor star players or potential stars.

Green was rubbish in the semi final. Id be prepared to give him more of a go but he would have to start showing some more positve signs that he is up to NRL.

Ha ha

Nice one Feej. Got in early on the annual ET rumour

We're signing David Furner as well

I still think that even taking his age into consideration, we'd get better value from ET than we do from Paris at this time.

Ben Barba played crap. Little defence and was mostly a spectator for a team that ended up with the spoon. He had half a decent game.

Wade Graham (Coote played wing and fullback) he did come along very well - at a stage where he wasn't expected to do much outside of play for a team who was little hope of making an impact at most stages of the season. He didn't get thrown in at the last minute in a semi final against Melbourne.

We'll agree to disagree on Green. I thought he played better than Kimmorley and quite a few of your senior players. He made mistakes but many of those mistakes were due to a lack of time with the first grade squad and made all the more obvious by the lack of commitment from other players.

that was probably ricky's idea too
untill tc became available

No thanks, he is always going to be getting in sh*t off the field, he has proven he doesn't learn from mistakes, don't need anyone thats gonna pull some stupid sh*t off the field and make us look bad. Well, thats just my 2 cents anyway.

Green doesn't have to be used in the halves, (there is reports he will spit the dummy if he doesn't), but, if we could secure him to play 1/2 and if we did end up with TC at least he could be used as dummy half, lock, and replacement 1/2

Ricky will sort him out
we have a lock. We have great depth in the back row
the only position green can play effectively are in the halves
