Robbie Farah vs. Cameron Smith

Farah wouldn't even be in the top 50 hookers to have played the game. He couldn't even crack origin over ennis. Average player with an average skill set.

Don't blame Farah for the crap team selections by nsw in recent years, that affected qlds winning run as well.

Farah has been better than Smith for quite some time now and at the moment is head and shoulders above him.

Farah has improved over the last couple of years but still over plays his hand too much. Smith is better in facet of the game. Both of them are A grade wankers though.

Buderus made johns look good. I have no doubt that without bedsy Joey would never have been as good as he was.

I agree with you, in fact in almost all situations a good hooker makes their halves perform better and not the other way around. I was only using the comparison to show how inaccurate simply saying someone looks good around stars. It is an ignorant argument because it doesn't compare the players at all.

Smith might be fortunate but you make your own luck.

Imagine if Farah was a QLDer who played his entire club career with Slater & Cronk, and his entire rep career with those two and Thurston, Inglis and Lockyer.

And then imagine that Smith was a Blue who played his entire NRL career under the Sheenius and rep career beside Soward, Wallace and Pearce.

Given this, does anyone seriously doubt that under this scenario we'd almost unanimously consider Farah the better hooker? Of course we would.

 It's hilarious you put Soward beside your talentless joke of a halfback. Sowie amassed a far better Origin resume in 3 games than that piece of shit Pearce has in 4 times as many games.

So Cam Smith's standing in the game by some, the numerous awards he's won so far, the countless representative honors he's achieved, how consistently good he actually is/has been and the fact he'll most likely be a future immortal is solely judged on that's he's played beside Slater and Cronk his entire career? Not that we needed any more proof but geez there's some real f**king geniuss around here

And in other threads on LU you would probably find the same crowd stating how over-rated and crap Slater and Cronk are.

Indeed, especially Bill who's copped more than his fair share of shit on LU over the years but now when it's suits their agenda he's a superstar. That said it's hardly surprising given the vast majority of bile being spewed in here is from those supporters that reside in the state of NSW.

That guy from my state is better yep yep

Anyway Farah will soon be the number 1 rake in the game and probably has a basis to make the call now his State side has finally gotten over Smith's. It's what happened when Smith overtook Buderus.

But youse carry on.
most unbiased league fans would surely say that cam smith and steve walters are the greatest rakes ever. benny elias and farah are unlucky to play at the same time as them but neither are or were anywhere near as good.

And if your aunty had balls she'd be your uncle......

That scenario is every bit as geniused as "If he didn't play beside Slater and Cronk" thinking. When you have to base your argument on if's, buts, maybes, what might have beens and things that just didn't happen to attempt to prove your point then you really know you're struggling and have sweet FA.

i can clearly remember 2 brain explosions that robbie had at end of origin games when going for the miracle play to win the game and failed. in your hypothetical the end result would have been the same. loser. robbie accidentally stumbled upon the difference between them in the article: smith is calm, farah takes poor options that lose big games. its because cam seems to have more time. all the great playmakers seem to have that. smith is consistent in his defence and robbie is nearly as good in this attribute.
