Can't see this posted anywhere else, but it concerns an NRL player more than anything else. Condolences to the poor bugger. No one wants to lose their Mum, but to have it happen after being MOTM (arguably) in State of Origin is just terrible.
ROBBIE Farah has lost his mother to cancer - just four days after he played a starring role in NSW's epic Origin win over Queensland.
Sonia Farah lost a long battle with pancreatic cancer earlier today.
She was admitted to hospital on Wednesday, just hours before her son’s heroic 63-tackle effort against the Maroons, which clinched a 16-12 win for the Blues.
Sonia watched her son's crowning moment from her hospital bed - the last time she saw him play.
Wests Tigers captain Farah was withdrawn from today's NRL match against the Sydney Roosters at Leichhardt Oval where a minute's silence was planned in memory of his mother Sonia Farah.
The Tigers players were to wear black armbands.
"Wests Tigers regret to advise the sad passing today of Sonia Farah, mother of our captain Robbie Farah," the club said in a statement.
"The team will wear black armbands for today's game against the Sydney Roosters at Leichhardt Oval as a mark of respect and there will also be a moment's silence before kick-off. Our deepest sympathies go out to Robbie and his family at this difficult time. The club will provide further details in due course."
