Can't see this posted anywhere else, but it concerns an NRL player more than anything else. Condolences to the poor bugger. No one wants to lose their Mum, but to have it happen after being MOTM (arguably) in State of Origin is just terrible.

ROBBIE Farah has lost his mother to cancer - just four days after he played a starring role in NSW's epic Origin win over Queensland.
Sonia Farah lost a long battle with pancreatic cancer earlier today.
She was admitted to hospital on Wednesday, just hours before her son’s heroic 63-tackle effort against the Maroons, which clinched a 16-12 win for the Blues.
Sonia watched her son's crowning moment from her hospital bed - the last time she saw him play.
Wests Tigers captain Farah was withdrawn from today's NRL match against the Sydney Roosters at Leichhardt Oval where a minute's silence was planned in memory of his mother Sonia Farah.

The Tigers players were to wear black armbands.
"Wests Tigers regret to advise the sad passing today of Sonia Farah, mother of our captain Robbie Farah," the club said in a statement.
"The team will wear black armbands for today's game against the Sydney Roosters at Leichhardt Oval as a mark of respect and there will also be a moment's silence before kick-off. Our deepest sympathies go out to Robbie and his family at this difficult time. The club will provide further details in due course."

I've never lost anyone to cancer and hope i never do.

condolences to the Farah family and friends.
Terrible news for them. Although id imagine there some small solace in the fact she'll no longer suffer the pain of the disease. Sad indeed.

That's terrible.

Probably one of the happiest moments of his life and then one of the worst a few days later. Can't imagine it.

Just saw Benji and Beau choking up during the minute's silence on the coverage.

I shed a tear just watching it.

Very sad. RIP.

That was really sad to see, very touching though.

A club is like a family and clearly they're all feeling it too.

Feel for the guy, one minute he is on top of the world; buzzing from the Origin game and now his world has come crashing down. Condolences to him and his family.

RIP Mrs.Farah.

Very moving seeing benji so up set. I think all the haters who say they aren't a tight club can back off a bit now.

R.i.p mrs farah

When it comes to matters like this, my personal feelings are put aside and only respect is shown.

Deepest condolences to Robbie and his family, on the passing of his mother. Life is cruel sometimes, and my thoughts are with him.

Seeing Benji cry during the moment of silence was very moving, and surely gets rid of the rumours that they don't get along.

Right about Benji. A man doesn't cry in public like that for someone he isn't close to.

What a week for Farah. During it he had one of the best days of his life and then the worst day so soon after.

I wish him all the best.

Sad news for Robbie, Eddie and the family. The images of Benji was tough to watch and it must have been hard for him to go out there and play.

A very sad day for the Farrah family. No doubt in time the emotions will become mixed as Mrs Farrah no longer has to suffer through this terrible condition but in the short term her passing would be nothing short of devastating.
