Kelly ain't a centre and would never make one at this level.
I'd imagine our centres getting the best ball they have in a decade with TC.

kenny Dowell ran afrigginmok in 2010 when Carney was on fire.
A big bloke who made big metres.

The NRL needs tuff blokes in 3 and 4. Lyons, Hodges, inglis, Cooper, Reed, etc - you need to muscle up on the fringe close to the line and get the pill over the stripe in the face of 1 or 2 defenders. And then be able to hit and hold when defending.

AK? never. Poor little bugger broke his leg being rag-dolled defending on the line when flung into a team mate.

Best and Toops in 3 and 4.

I don't know I'd like to see Tagga have a go in the centres too.

That scares me just sitting on the sideline.

Would Dean Collis be worth calling up from NSW Cup now that's there's the possibility of him getting some quality ball?

Read the article very carefully, cause it actually tells us alot. The clubs policy is that Wade Graham is our #1 player when we look into the long term. That's who they are trying to build around. The club considers Carney a bonus, thats all. They don't want the squad falling into the abyss if Carney re-offends which is not in the unlikely realm. AK is giving everyone the shits. He makes demands on where he wants to play, sulks, and is considered high risk on the off field behavior front. He hasn't really showed that much in NRL or NSW cup and he's no kid anymore.

Looks like Gordon will still be here next year.
I would have though AK would be happy to just be in the team, it's not like he has set the world on fire at NRL level.

Did you not see his pretentious interview last year about his "preferred" position?
I thought the line from Flano about "Albert still reckons he can play fullback" was rather strange.

So a lot of this speculation seems to indicate that Gallen is moving up front? IMO the Sharks need the fastest and most explosive players they've got running off Carney to stop other teams simply marking up on Gardner. Graham imo could play a Fittler or Daley-like role in the centres - big, skillful and another kicking option should the need arise. He seems to have a bit of pace for a biggish guy. Best is a finisher and nothing more in my mind, Tagatese would need to slim down a little. There's got to be some big young thing in the 20s looking for a chance.

Kelly is judged more on his potential than his 1st grade ability.

He should be selected on form, not potential.

Not that I'd know about any on the behind the scenes stuff, however on the field it was clear as day. Kelly is not a performer. Sure he might spark up every now and then, take an opportunity, however overall he is hype and I can't understand why we resigned him - especially when talking length of contract.

Happy to build around Wade, however as a lock, not a 7. Wade played the full season and Townsend played 11 games. They both made 5 try assists, Wade kicked 154 times to Townsend's 125 (Townsend having a much higher kicks per game ratio). What Wade excelled at was Ball running. He is a lock.

2 years time:
6. Penani
7. Townsend
13. Graham.

If Carney goes off the rails he will be gone. If he doesn't, another club will take him off our hands at the end of the contract anyway.

I think if Carney keeps his nose clean for 2 years & therefore excels with us, I reckon he'll wanna stay for another contract.

Not really. Our most promising back coming through is Pickerd and he is small, has played centres but is more of a fullback. Mills fits the bill I guess, and can bust a tackle. Frizzell & Taga are other options, or the eternal hope that Pom will learn to catch one day (I don't reckon he will though, because if you are born unco you can't do much about it). No to Graham, his ball playing abilities would be wasted in the centres.

I agree on the 20's players looking for a run.

Obviously it would take a mircale to get Hurrell from the Warriors, but if we got the cash, why not?

Moses Pangai would be another we should try and get from the Cowboys. They have Linnett and Tate probably ahead of him.

Antonio Winterstein maybe another, but I think we would face an uphill battle getting him to the club.
