Sorry BLM01 whether you love or loath Millward, I still reckon he's full of shit much like a pool filter! That's my personal view :sunglasses:
For the record I like POSSM think he was helicoptred into the role as part of the boys club mentatlity but for me he is done average just..but an improvement on what we have done since Bennett left.
And YES just like Doust..speak like politicians. Mary is the same.... I hate his press conferences about everything is Rosy and will focus on any long straw to justify proving whatever happens or whatever they do is right.

Now thats a stretch of the raw prawn. Jennings has more speed than both Nene and Periera. I like Periera though and 2 very completely different wingers Jennings & Periera and if true good for our club. Periera went to the Matt Utai school of wingers.
Disagree that it’s a stretch mate.
Look at his tries this year. I didn’t see the fast, try scoring winger that wins you games as you said. I saw a decent finisher, that’s all.
Apparently either did Souffs recruitment, he’s still looking for a contract.

Corey Oates, in addition to being a great finisher, is a beast on kick returns, and is a huge aerial threat on attacking kicks. He's also produced that consistently over 100 games in the NRL
Josh Addo-Carr, in addition to being a great finisher, is a proven attacking threat all over the field and has created tries for himself and others in the team.

These guys absolutely warrant above average salaries.

Robert Jennings has proven he's a good finisher, in one season, on the end of the best attack in the comp. At the moment he warrants the average at the absolute most.
Average for a try scoring fast winger. You tell me how many wingers would be on 341K or less. No dont worry none of us know what salaries are or the market value for a winger. I am guessing but it has to be more than the NRL average. A damn pretty good half or fullback can demand nearly a 1 mill and over these days

Someone's got to go in a salary cap squeeze. Alex Johnston who really is a winger was asking 700's + and yes can fill in at fullback but he is not that great either and Bennett wants to keep him

He would be a handy pick up but the reported 500k is a lot of money to pay for a very good, single season for a winger on the back of a slick backline.
We’d definitely have the cash (Hayne & Mann money spring to mind).

Other sources suggesting Robert Jennings could be signing for Wests Tigers.

Seems incredible that people read and take to heart what is written as being gospel.

My impression from the Millward video re: Mann's departure, was that we are looking at a couple of outside backs to "fill" the squad. In other words a couple of players at near ISP level. RJ at the reported 500k doesnt fit that bill, even at 350k he doesnt.

Well Souths can only afford to pay him 300k but they want to keep him

Based on his skill, speed, try scoring ability, and market value.
What did you think, based on his cooking?!
Interesting...

So based on those attributes, you’d say that $400k is fair “market value” for Jennings?

Given that Addo-Carr is on less than $400k, you’re telling me that Jennings is a better winger?

Contract timing is everything when it comes to how many $$$ you are going to get because if you are on the market at the time there are other quality players it becomes harder to twist the arm of recruitment managers but if you are on the market when there are less options then of course your value will be little higher.
But in reality none of that matters for us as we will always be paying overs to attract any half decent player let alone a real good one.

Scored a hatrick v Manly and bagged 4 in another game. Each try was from 10-15m out.
Most were falling over the line untouched.

Didn’t see anything Pearson or Pierera couldnt do. I can see why Souffs could only find $300k.
Sounds about right to me.
Said the exact same thing in an earlier post.
He was on the end of a well drilled backline & only had to catch in open space on most occasions.I'm not so sure he'll get that same service from our backline.

Muz, how would you like to pay a player, based on what?

Speed, skill, good finisher, scores up around 20 tries, decent defender... ...sure, 320k may be closer, but with our current lack of good backline players, happy to go to 380k.

Ado carr prob worth 430k

Tell me, on what basis would you like to judge a player on in regards to paying him?

I think hair do’s should be considered.
Man buns and dyed blonde hair should be a sackable breach of any contract negotiations.
