Based on the fact that he scored 18 tries last year

He actually scored 19 tries for Souths in 21 appearances and 1 try in one appearance for Tonga. Must make him worth more than $400K then!

Interestingly, Wikipedia ahead of the game LOL. Have him playing for the Dragons in 2019.

Other sources suggesting Robert Jennings could be signing for Wests Tigers.
We'll probably end up with the other Jennings...Michael on a subsidised contract paid by the Eels.
I've just about given up on all these so called rumoured signings. After the Hayne Plane crashed & Storeman Norman is looking for a forklift to carry his proposed salary....I just wait & expect very little!!

Jennings would be a marked improvement on what we currently have. Both he and Pearson are natural left sided players.

Wondering whether Jennings could play left centre as well as he plays left wing?

Ravalawa, Pereira. and Lomax will compete for the right wing spot.

Lomax would/should play right centre. Aitken would behind Lafai and Lomax in the centre steaks at SGI.

Let's face it, Millward can't land a complex deal. He can probably get over the line with a simple deal in which no other club is competing for the player. Just watch the video link below to see how much he is in command of the current situation and how wishy washy he is. Jobs for the boys just isn't the right way to go.

Possm I find it hard to listen to his PR interviews! He reminds me of a pool filter on backwash trying to clean up the crap with his spin & make out all is positive moving forward.

Eto Nabuli would have looked good on the left wing for Souths this year. Hell, Colin Saukuru would have looked good. They had the slickest left side attack in the comp (in years, even) - all Jennings had to do was catch and not fall over and he'd clock up a dozen tries.

400k is wayyy overs, and if we sign him to play centre it's a Dylan Farrell remix signing.

Downgrade from Nene.
Saw Peirera score a better try last season than any of his 19.
Now thats a stretch of the raw prawn. Jennings has more speed than both Nene and Periera. I like Periera though and 2 very completely different wingers Jennings & Periera and if true good for our club. Periera went to the Matt Utai school of wingers.

Why would you want a complex deal especially if favours the player. Club 1st mentality for me

Blame St George's media advisors or department. These guys are called to an interview by their media dept and then told what and how they should release info and what questions will or wont be asked. Just read between the lines as hard as it is. We let Mann go to sign someone else..simple. But no...nothing is fully absolutely unrevokably finalised set in stone or ready to be announced so they.....admit to nothing.
Why do you think the media interview was done from within. Any half decent external interviewer would simply ask the obvious surprise question catching him out.
If you did not have a replacement why did you let Mann go? and what happens if you dont find a replacement suitable?. You play 3 short this year!

Look the perception of salaries is hard.. 500K if true and reported god knows is a lot of money..it might be 350K and 150K TPA by our now rich club. ;)
But seriously put in perspective the bog average salary of a NRL player is 341K. (average back rower0 A try scoring fast winger (did he score the most tries last year?) on the market today who wins you games has got to be worth more
Cory Oates was asking up wards they say of 600K +, Morris took 650K years ago from the Dogs
NRL salaries are out of proportion with our perceptions of reality life out there but that is the NRL expanding bubble life for you. Yes Addo Carr was a cheap nuffie buy for melbourne at the time who has got him to be the best in the game. I bet if he came on the market he would get close to the 700's +

Sorry BLM01 whether you love or loath Millward, I still reckon he's full of shit much like a pool filter! That's my personal view :sunglasses:

Corey Oates, in addition to being a great finisher, is a beast on kick returns, and is a huge aerial threat on attacking kicks. He's also produced that consistently over 100 games in the NRL
Josh Addo-Carr, in addition to being a great finisher, is a proven attacking threat all over the field and has created tries for himself and others in the team.

These guys absolutely warrant above average salaries.

Robert Jennings has proven he's a good finisher, in one season, on the end of the best attack in the comp. At the moment he warrants the average at the absolute most.
