WESTS TIGERS MEDIA RELEASE:

WESTS TIGERS RELEASE ROB LUI
9/11/2011 5:24:59 PM
Wests Tigers can confirm half-back Robert Lui has been released from the final year of his contract with the Club.

The decision allows Lui to immediately take on a two-year deal with the North Queensland Cowboys.

Born in Townsville, Lui made his first grade debut for the Club at the end of 2009 and played 43 games for Wests Tigers.

“Robert grew up in North Queensland and we believe he will benefit from the strong family support available to him in Townsville," said Wests Tigers Chief Executive Stephen Humphreys.

"He is a very talented football player and leaves with our best wishes for the future."

As a Tigers fan I am happy to see Lui leave the club finally after two chances. As a result of his leaving I think Jacob Miller will get the call to play in the 7 depending on Moltzen. It's a great news day for the club so we can move forward without Lui.

Hopefully this will be good for all parties. We know it will be good for the Tigers and Liu might finally learn how to be a decent human being with big Sam Backo looking over his shoulder

Why has it taken so long.

Because they had to make sure they got Moltzen back before they found there morals and sacked Lui.

Plus if they didn't sack Lui now they would be over the cap due to having Moltzen back.

To say I am a little pissed off right now about this clown coming up here would be a massive understatement. I can't believe after all the good work the club has done this year, they then go and do this??? I reckon there will be a bit of backlash over this up here, watch this space I guess.

The guy is scum. Oh, he's got a bit of ballplaying talent and is probably better than Jones, but I really don't want to see him in a Cowboys jersey.

Why the Moltzen @ 7 hate? He went alright there from memory - it's just that Sheens decided to turn him into a fullback when he obviously isn't.

Moltzen actually started playing fairly well toward the end of the season didn't he?

if moltzen is a half, he's a five eighth.

we need an organiser at 7.

He went well most of the time because Benji and Robbie were in awesome form.

You could've put Skando in the 7 and we would've won those games.

for a full season though....teams will hammer him and that will pressure the hell out of Benji and Robbie.

Yeah Moltzen was awesome late in the year, and we have a 9 out of 10 record with him in the 7. The Moltzen hate is weird and unjustified.
