What a wonderful player and ambassador for the game. Finally recognised as an immortal! Coote was a special player with a lot of his big games and performances often against us. Always had a huge soft spot for him and his overall contribution on and off the field has been nothing short of magnificent!

I always admired Cootey. Always gave 100% on game day. Such a great cover defender. Tall, lanky, strong of heart and willpower.

I am glad he became the 14th Rugby League Immortal.

Cam Smith was an outstanding rugby league player. Tough as teak and never injured (only minor if anything). Great hooker and great goal kicker to boot. Captained the Storm to win premierships and captained the SOO and Test games. He is a legend.

Had he been at the Dragons, who knows, we could have been a chance of making several top 8's.
