Very very safe under the high ball and manages to break the line very often, as well as gaining good yards on kick returns...better than solid.

I'd have covell back in a heartbeat. Knows his limitations and makes up for it in so many other ways. Great under the high ball in defence and attack as well

Covell is a very smart winger. Knows his weaknesses and his strengths, and he plays accordingly. Very good goal kicker (we lost many games this year on goal kicking) and safe as houses on the wing. Despite not being very fast he can still score tries, and is a natural point scorer. I'd take him over Fitzhenry any day of the week.

Johnny Davidson the x balmain winger was pretty slow but not many players beat him and give him a sniff of the try line he got over--well Covell very similar but miles bigger--but guess what Sheens didnt rate him tried to turn him into a BACKROWER--now you know how Danny Gelea feels

Ahhhhhh....the Butcher.....I loved him.....had a mean right/left when aroused too.

Great comparison between the two.

PS>.......In Sheensies defene,Covell did a lot of bumbling anf fumbling for the WTs and I didnt rate him at all.....IMO he has improved out of sight since joining Cronulla.

Worth ten Fitzys at least.

Covell wasnt on his top form then, but the whole team was disjointed and bumbling that year, overall coordination and form is often contagious. However you could see what Covell had to offer, when working with either better, or in form players, it was apparent he had a lot to offer with another season to develop. Thought he was a good option for wing back then, just needed more time to gel. Had a great synch when Marshall was inside him. Maybe I missed games when he fumbled off Benji, but that's what I recall. Great long term prospect on wing, and a secure future for goal kicking. Should never have let him go. Likewise Cashmere.
