I will nominate three players for each award at the minute.

Defensive ROTY: Jairus Byrd (BUF), Brian Orakpo (WAS), Brian Cushing (HOU).

Offensive ROTY: Knowshon Moreno (DEN), LeSean McCoy (PHI), Percy Harvin (MIN).

Good to see votes for Brian Cushing, he is a beast at LB and shows yet again the Houston got it right when they took him and not his more fancied team mate Ray Maualuga (CIN) who was high in a lot of the mock drafts. Cushing has outperformed not only his former team mate but also #4 draft pick Aaron Curry (SEA). He has been superb this season and will be doing this for the next decade.

Houston are building a team here ... the pieces are falling in to place.

Has to be Byrd for Defensive.

How many rookies come in and get that many picks in their first season?

He is an all round ball hawk and is likely to go to the pro-bowl in his first season. According to some reports.

The kid has been the only bright spark of this dismal year for Buffalo.

On offense. Hard to go past Harvin. Kid is a beast.

While I agree to a certain extent, Curry has played very well imo in a defense that's secondary is rubbish.

The LB core for the Seahawks are the only ones that stand up consistently. IMO fix the secondary and Curry will develop very nicely.

And with Ray. Ray has gone VERY well for the Bengals. An absolute bargain in the second round. The kid hits like a truck. He is a definite reason for the turnaround in that Bengal's defense this season. They have built very well. They see him as a vital cog of that machine. Him, Jones, Rivers make up an imposing LB core, then its Odem and Johnson up front with ballhawks at the back and the veteran presence of Roy Williams.

The Texans also have stacks of talent AROUND Cushing to let him do his thing. When you have Akoye and Williams up front pilling the pressure you are going ok and then you've got great CB's and Safeties. The Texans are a quality team and one I thought would do much better than they did this season.

Harvin is awesome IMO on an explosive offense and will probably win it but Moreno has been on fire the past two weeks and lead all rookie rushers but more importantly is starting to get into the end zone at the right time of year.

Defense will be Cushing IMO.

Blade, nice to see you back mate.

Nice post. You're not wrong about the 'absolute bargain' part re: Maualuga.

Cushings is an absolute gun. I've rated him from the moment i saw him play. Quality player, the Texans were right to take him ahead of the others

Sigh, Denver could've gotten Maluaga instead of Alphonso Smith.

Wouldn't mind lining up with Ayers, DJ, Maluaga and Doom in the LB core.

O: Harvin

D: 3 way split. It will depend on stats. If Byrd continues getting picks it will be him, if Orakpo comes close to Kearse's rookie sack record it will be him, if neither of these guys get the "numbers" it will be Cushing.

Percy Harvin.

I've liked what I've seen of Clay Matthews of the Packers this year too, he is up there with Cushing IMO.

But I'm gonna say Byrd or Cushing wins it.

Sigh Buffalo could have gotten Orakpo or Oher but instead took the undersized, overhyped Maybin and then skipped on Loadholt and Mauluga to sign Eric Wood.
