Roosters sign French prop Remi Casty from Catalans Dragons

On a 2 year contract from 2014. He will be 29 when he plays for the Roosters.

Excellent buy.

Remi Casty is a prop forward, a position where Roosters are a bit thin in depth. He began his professional career in Super League with the Catalans Dragons in 2006, at age 21.

He is currently Catalans Dragons team captain, and is one of the top props in Super League. He made the Super League Dream Team in 2012 when he was under the coaching of Trent Robinson at Catalans. Makes good yards and tackles well.

For those who don't know, Catalans are running 4th in Super League at the moment, just ahead of Leeds, (who narrowly lost the WCC to Melbourne in February but defeated Manly the year before). Casty as captain is a regular in the run on team.

Those who are wondering about the wisdom of the signing should ask themselves how the Sydney Roosters are doing this year under former Catalans coach Trent Robinson.

You gotta trust what Robbo is doing as well. Good enough for him then I'm sure it'll be a good signing.

Welcome Remi, hope you bring some lovely French culture to our club, these tattooed bros are killin me. ;-)

He looks like a willing customer in that highlights vid, though i feel he erred bigtime at 1.07 by not chipping over the top and regathering.

Speaking of French, id like to go on the record and say.........i think French chicks are the bomb!!!!

The signing of Remi Casty came up in the Radio LeagueUnlimited / A View from the Hill Podcast.

Listen to what the panel had to say about the signing of Remi, The Demise of the Balmain Leagues Club and the idea that Tom Waterhouse would not have been a problem if he put on a skirt and a wig.

Remi Casty is likely to be one of the 4 preferred props each week:

Jared Wharea-Hargreaves
Sam Moa
Martin Kennedy
Remi Casty

That will leave Luke O'Donnell out in the cold, unless they plan to re-sign him as a utility forward back up for other first choicers in the props or back row.

Frank-Paul N. will be a utility forward back up.

Back row first choicers should be:

Boyd Cordner
Sonny Bill Williams
Mitchell Aubuisson
Aiden Guerra

Wow, with Remy and Sam in your front row, you can now start your own reality show, " little people in big shoes" they make up a very short frontrow, likely to get dominated. We have the Burgi, all four lol, 6ft5 and avg 120kg of muscle, happy days girls.

Roosters new signing Remi Casty played a blinder for Catalans Dragons on Saturday against Hull Kingston Rovers. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to get his team home because although it was four tries a piece Catalans scrum half Thomas Bosc missed two conversions and Hull KR won by a point. The game was held in Toulouse in front of 14,857 mostly French fans.

Incidentally, bullocking French centre Vincent Duport scored two tries for Catalans. Maybe Robbo could consider him as a replacement for SKD. Duport could play Harry Wells to Jenko's Reg Gasnier, if you know what I mean.

Please don't show us your photo collection of naked men, we aren't interested in your sick obsession. Back to footy, girls, I notice you merkins are all excited about beating a Dogs side with defunct halves and old fat outside backs lol. Dogs are no yard stick fools, the yard stick in this competition are the mighty Rabbitohs and you over achieved sorry fools will be going nowhere in 2013 lol. We are in your way and will not move, especially for a bunch of mercenaries who have no spirit and no class, D day is coming girls, start collecting the buckets.

Our spirit was there for all to see on Friday night. What would you merkins do with your halves combo missing?

Hehehehehe, Mortimer is a better half than Mitchell piss lol, so no loss there, and while you had Jennings and Maloney out, they had Reynolds and Morris out, I reckon that negates any disadvantage that you numbskulls are whinging about. So big deal you beat a team that had three players out and you had four players missing, boo hoo, wake up you cry babies, we don't care who we have out or who we play, our structure and discipline allows us to put our ball boy in at halfback and we could still manage a win.
