Nah they didn't get close to cracking Manly's line without an illegal play. Did they even make a line break?

What a victory. Kept them to zero with 16 players and without B Stewart, G Stewart, J King, J Tafua.

An 11-2 penalty count doesn't sound right especially given how tough Manly are and how they're willing to push the boundaries.

But the Roosters benefited in last years grand final from refereeing that was far more dubious so they'll have to cop last nights result. They should have received more penalties last night but nonetheless it was a fantastic win by the Eagles.

I believe Brett Stewart is worth an average of 12-18 points per game so for the Eagles to win all three games following his injury is remarkable. Right now they could have been 4 and 0 with far bigger winning margins had he not been injured.

Exactly. That's what most of us are saying and yet so many can't seem to comprehend that simple fact. I do believe we got the rub of the green in the GF, so yes, there's that.

People need to stop ragging on Mini as far as I'm concerned the dude can be forgiven for a couple of mistakes he has been one of our most loyal players and always puts in 100%.

We were unlucky with some of the calls but not much can be done about that but that does mean that Sonny Bill not being there would've changed things.

Ah that old chestnut, "ruck dominance".

So in conclusion the following are the reasons we give away penalties and or don't get them over a 10 year period.

1. Ruck dominance
2. We purposely give them away, it somehow benefits us.
3. Teams rise to the challenge to play us
4. We don't fight hard enough in the play the ball
5. Our game plan isn't geared enough towards getting penalties
6. We have the option to run around offside defenders so that means the offside players cant be penalised.

your forwards were losing the ruck battle so then resorted to a lot of high shots due to tiredness

theres a rule in league if you hit the head its a penalty

tell JWH about it

better team won. they shouldve won by more

Manly pose no threat to the Roosters regaining their title. Easts at their best would blow Manly off the park and I'm expecting as much when the Brookvale game comes along.

The Manly side has several players that have featured in 4 grand finals in 7 seasons. The Roosters look strong again but against the likes of Manly and the Storm, the Roosters are no certainties to regain the title.
