Who gives a sh*t. This is a PROFESSIONAL sport. Any club who relies solely on juniors is DOOMED to failure. No club does, if they did they wouldnt exist. I think you must be the only person in NSW who cant see that. So what if a club is 84% juniors ... all its means is they are cheapskates. Methinks its YOU who is the idiot.

Go and read the Soward is a Canberra junior thread in the Roosters forum. Even the Canberra supporters realise Easts do it tough when it comes to young kids, but at least we sign the young kids and develop them into first grade standard. What the hell does your club do ? Put a jumper on their back and call them a junior is all. Then sell them off to the highest bidder. Dont whinge to us, youve got buckleys of winning this argument. Your club is NOT professional, and thats why they are where they are.

It's why Newcastle are sponsorless and winless all they worry about is local talent and there juniors. Sure develop them but you have to keep them as well. Newcastle don't do that and that is where they struggle. Don't mention finances as a comeback cause with the money you spent on keeping Johns it could have gone into keeping quite a few young talents.

Mander is the best ref in the NRL at the moment. But I can remember a few games where Manly haven't travelled too well with him running the show.

Still, always good to have the man who I consider to be the best of the bunch reffing my team.

If Manly can do it for a whole season, then you'd be entitled to be cocky. Until then the jury's out. Crocker, Flannery and Fitzgibbon are all internationals who have been playing at the highest level for a number of years.

whole season except one important game...

Menzies and Kennedy have been reps for a long time. And Watmough, King and Kite are all young and played rep footy. Harris made city v country, and Glenn Stewart is one of the best prospects at the Manly club.

Form is important. And it's in the backrow that Manly have won most of their games.

Has Flannery played for Australia? Either way, our second row has been miles ahead of any other in the comp. They've just about single handedly got us to where we are on the ladder. Flannery is a good utility player but he's not even in the same class as our 3, Crocker is a liability in recent times and Fitzgibbon is probably the best of the 6. I'd still take our 3 over your 3 any day of the week.

RICKY Stuart's pre-Origin threat to dump out-of-form players may backfire on him tonight, with Manly back-rower Anthony Watmough desperate to put his case for retention forward when the Sea Eagles meet the Roosters at Aussie Stadium.

It's understood Watmough is one of several players fighting to retain his place in the NSW side for Origin II on June 15.

Stuart has declared at least four spots up for grabs and has put the onus on all candidates to lift their game at club level this weekend or risk the sack.

Watmough did little wrong with limited opportunity in Origin I but needs a big game against Stuart's Roosters to safeguard his position on the NSW bench.

``If I play well for Manly then the rest of it will look after itself,'' Watmough said.

``I can't afford to look too far ahead.''

Manly coach Des Hasler added: ``He did nothing wrong in the first game and I'm a bit surprised his name has been mentioned (as a possible axing).

``His form has been good all season and he hasn't suddenly gone out of form.

``I guess it's a case of getting the balance right on the bench and he (Stuart) may want to make some changes there.''

Recent history suggests Manly will struggle tonight.

The Sea Eagles have lost nine of their past 10 games under lights and have only beaten the Roosters once in their last six encounters.

But Manly skipper Michael Monaghan, who will confront brother and flatmate Joel this evening, says his side is primed to reverse those trends.

``We've already won at night this year and we're backing ourselves against every team we play, so confidence won't be an issue,'' he said.

Asked if his brother had leaked the Roosters' match plan this week, Michael joked: ``He's not smart enough to know what's going on.

``I haven't seen much of him this week and I won't want to see much of him if we lose.''

Monaghan, who has been put on a two-week trial by Manly, will find out next week whether the club is keen to keep him beyond this year.

Hasler will wait until later today to finalise his side, with centre Terry Hill rated next to no chance of playing.

Replacement centre Steve Matai is sus pended, leaving rookie Ashley Alberts in line for a call-up if he can shake off his own injury concerns.

Prop Jason King is also in some doubt but is hopeful of playing.

The Roosters will be missing inspirational skipper Luke Rickertson, who is out sus pended.

Fans are urged to take public transport and arrive early to tonight's game due to possible congestion in the Moore Park area.

Parking will be reduced, however, there will be space available at Sydney Girls and Sydney Boys High.

Regular buses will operate from Central Station.

Halfback Brett Finch ran with his Sydney Roosters teammates at training yesterday and is likely to play against Manly at Aussie Stadium tonight. Finch had been rated a likely withdrawal due to a back injury but captain Craig Fitzgibbon said: "Finchy went for physio after training and we'll have to see how he pulls up."

Manly have centre Terry Hill (groin) and prop Jason King (shoulder) in doubt. They trained last night and will undergo fitness tests this morning.

I dont mind if flash gets a call up.

Its only a matter of time, he is all class, and will be pushing for origen in a few years barring more major injuries. There is no secret that bennet was dissapointed to lose him, he carved up the cougars last week before he got a small injury on his should/collarbone which is what kept him out of the game last year.

The Roosters with Ricketson out actually have a far worse winning record than a Johns-less Newcastle, a Lockyer-less Broncos or a Kimmorley-less Sharks.

That said, I still think they'll be too strong tonight.
