Here we go!!! Here we f**king go!! It feels so surreal to say this but after a long, hard Pre-Season, Round 1 is finally upon us. The dawn of a new Season is finally upon us. Been waiting for this since that Grand Final last year. With a new Season comes new hope, every club has high hopes, dreams and it is a level playing field at this time of the year. We all know it's a new era for us this year but I still think we have a great opportunity to do something special. it's now about going out there and taking that opportunity. Who will come out the other side and lift that trophy on the first weekend of October? No one knows. One thing we do know is that it's gonna be one hell of a ride and that ride begins this week so strap yourselves in!

To say I've been looking forward to this week for so, so long is a bit of an understatement actually and I'm really excited to be opening our Season in a big Friday night blockbuster against the Broncos up there at a packed out Suncorp Stadium. It really will be an epic way to kick off 2022! There will be feeling in this one too, not only because we're now playing for keeps, but because the Broncos have become a big rival of ours and there is certainly now a fair bit of hatred between the two clubs which I'm sure has only been made stronger by the Adam Reynolds situation. I'm not sure what to expect from the Broncos because a lot would have changed for them and we don't even know who's gonna be playing but I am expecting a tough game. They'll come out firing wanting to show everyone that Season 2022 will be different.

We should have more than enough fire to match that intensity too though! After losing a grand Final the year before, it's that hurt and that pain that drives you the next year. I'm sure the boys will be feeling it and they'll have a real fire in their belly's this year. That fire has been burning away all Pre-Season and it's now time to go out there and do it! I'm hoping the boys have worked hard over the past week or so to iron out some chinks and we should be ready and raring to go. Hopefully Murray returns for his first game as captain too. I'm so ready!! Our boys should be as well.

The NRL is back and a new era is about to get underway!! Let's get ready for kick off!! Just four sleeps to go!!

My predicted line up for Round 1 against the Broncos is,

1. Taaffe
2. Johnston
3. Paulo
4. Graham
5. Mansour
6. Walker
7. Ilias
8. Nicholls
9. Cook
10. Tatola
11. Koloamatangi
12. Arrow
13. Murray (C)

14. Havili
15. Host
16. Burgess
17. Sele

Pretty similar to the line up in the Charity Shield I'm predicting. I think JD will give Paulo and Mansour the benefit of the doubt for now and see how they go. They have a chance now but this is it, if they don't perform, they're gone. I know Murray is still touch and go but he'll be named and given right up to game day. I think Sele has done enough to earn a spot in the 17 and Havili will take the utility role while Mitchell is out.

Can't wait for our first team list Tuesday of the year tomorrow!!!!

I would select the following lineup:
Taaffe
Alex J
Graham
Karapani
Paulo
Walker [vc]
L.Ilias
Tatola
Bake
Nicholls
Kaloamatangi
Arrow
Murray [if a non-starter Sele]
Tom B
Host
Mamezoulos
Chee-Kam [can play various positions and has experience]
Sele on the bench if Skipper palys.

Under NO circumstances Mansour and NO Paulo as a centre. Starting Paulo there with Mansour outside him is a disaster!! And absolutely NO Kennar or Cartwright!!

Paulo failed badly in the trials as a centre. He was awful! Mansour is dreadful should never have been imported back. Don't you trust you eyesight??

No to Mamouzelos on the bench, the rest isn't too bad.

I don't disagree with that, I'm just predicting what I think will happen. JD will give them another chance I feel. I don't necessarily agree with it but it's what will happen.

Should they fail again, JD needs to make the call.
