Taaffe has been ruled out unfortunately. Bit of a blow for us as it now means AJ to fullback and Sauce onto the wing which is a disruption hours before kick off and certainly makes us less potent. It's over to those boys to do a job for us. They need to. I'll back them but this isn't ideal that's for sure.

Yeah we gave away too many penalties in mid field which put us on the back foot, and poor field position

That was absolutely terrible. A diabolical way to start the Season. Couldn't have started much worse to be honest. I get that we have a lot of new combos that are going to take time, I get that but that is no excuse for the way we played. It's probably the worst I've seen us perform in two years. The boys didn't even look like they wanted to be there, the body language was really poor all game. We got beaten in every single effort area and that's mainly where the game was lost. Such a shitty attitude by most of the guys out there, they've done a disgrace to the jersey. I would have thought a Grand Final loss the year before would have you breathing fire for Round 1, apparently not.

Along with attitude, it was execution that cost us tonight. Like the attitude, execution was terrible. So bad. I think we were down to almost 60% completions at one stage and that is simply not acceptable. The attack was way off. So clunky, no cohesion, no direction.

We will be a lot better in time no doubt. It's a transition period and it's going to take time. However, we have A LOT of work to do.

I'm just so, so disappointed, frustrated and angry as I expected a lot more to kick off the year, especially attitude wise. I think the boys disgraced the South Sydney jersey tonight and they should be ashamed of themselves.
