Not fussed about him leaving as such. My anger is at him going and not being replaced. He was a first choice backline player and will be replaced with a replacement. Not good.Sucks to see Morris leave but this whole forum has been banging on for years about the team being a dads army. Finally we are seeing some new kids emerge its pretty exciting really. Some of these young blokes look real hungry to make a name for themselves too. I think we will be all right.
Good point. It's far from certain that he grows into a consistent first grader. The reported 500k seems high for a bloke coming off a poor season.I come back too seems we could not actually afford Jesse.
So why do it.
My anger is that a club can contact a contracted player from another club and offer him a deal.
Even when hes under contract.
It upsets the players frame of mind and he immediately wants out.
It phfarks with the our clubs preparation for the season as the player has been preparing with us all summer.
How this isnt illegal is what angers me.
Greenburg watches Easts do this to our club and decides this is how he wants clubs to behave??
Not a transfer period, a transfer feeYes. It's stupid and shouldn't be allowed. But I think we've probably been guilty of it in the past as well.
Make a transfer period and be done with it. Once or twice a year. Clubs can put up a list. Player has to agree. When the period is over no more talk. Move on.
John obviously has a lot of time for him.Good point. It's far from certain that he grows into a consistent first grader. The reported 500k seems high for a bloke coming off a poor season.

Get a young centre who is on the market, knows the club, loves the club, didn't want to leave and have him secured for the next 10 years.
Or Keep Josh Morris for this season, then he retires or plays one more year and Jesse goes elsewhere.
We made the right call. As good as Josh is, he is on the way out and Jesse is on the way up.
The real issue here is the cap fine, Moylan and SJ. Those 3 factors are taking up 2 Million in funds and offering us nothing in return.
I won't add Dugan as he was one of our 3 best players last year.
Hey does the team get announced today??
Pretty sure they womt risk Xerri for round 1 and possibly round 2.... Morris is needed for at least a week or 2.Yes, if they're following the same standard practice at last year, then all the teams get announced at 4pm, every Tuesday.
Anyone got the latest on Josh Morris ? if he's supposedly going to the Chooks in Round 2, then why even consider him for Round One ?
