I didn't see the trial, but from what I read in the herald Potter was not at all convinced by Miller and said Moltzen was still in the mix for halfback. It was a small article but it sounded very much like Moltzen is very much in Potters plans.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Moltzen gets moved to halfback to make way for Tedesco when he is fit for first grade. I'm only going off different stories in the media bit that's the feeling I get. Hopefully Miller dies enough to hold his spot and Tedesco comes in anyway.

This pack is going to be the laughing stock of the nrl. No grunt or aggression. We seriously need some size, skill and aggression if we are going to compete.

And we're stuck with anasta, blair and fulton for a few more years!

Need bmm and pettybourne to really step up.

If Blair plays like he did last year, I tend to agree we are f**ked.

Fulton and Anasta in the same side doesn't fill me with any confidence. I think they should be interchanged. Both very good defensively but when we are camped on our own 20 and getting smashed what is going to happen?

BMM and Pettybourne are capable of aggression, hopefully they give us some impact.

very skillful team, if they get anywhere near Newcastle's try line they will be dangerous.

I've got a great idea hunculo . . . . why don't you take your sarcasm and all your pain emanating from the inability of the great Benny being able to achieve anything with your rabble of a team . . . and shove it ?
Enjoy your season.

Anasta was great against the Eels, and was ill for the Roosters game so I am not writing the back row off yet. Blair showed more in the trials than he did last year. We have to forget we signed him at an insane price - he is simply not that goodd. We can expect him to rise to the level of Heighno though if Blair plays to his potential. Pettybourne off the bench adds impact we have lacked - he runs hard and wants to smash people in defense. And BMM under a new coach - hoping to see him have a great season. Buchanon has a great motor, doesnt look overawed and hope he kicks on. Keith looked great in the trials - we just have to keep him on the park. Fulton was rusty - defensively the worse I have ever seen him, so hoping he got the shocker out of his system because his only real job with us is defense. I hope Miller gets some time in the 7 - changing the halves every few weeks is a Sheens special and contributed greatly to our failure last year etc. I am looking forward to this season - its a long year, 05 taught us we dont need to gel instantly as long as it happens with enough time left.

Yep true.. 05 also taught us that you dont need a side of giants and a fast backline.
I would prefer to have both tho now .

We are still small and have the potential to be monstered - alot will depend on how the refs interpret the ruck. I love what Daniel Anderson has done with the video refs, hoping he can make some more positive changes and getting the wrestle out of the ruck would be huge.

Immaterial of how we go in this rebuilding year finally without the influence of sheens I'm looking forward to the competition. As long as our players put in to the best of their ability I'm happy. We may loose a few but as long as we give it a fair go and don't surrender I won't complain.

I think for the first time in years we will be close to getting a 100% from the players win lose or draw, just seems Potter is big on commitment

Looking at the game tonight there was no speeding up the rucks...we might be in trouble.

How in he'll could we contain a team like souths, massive forward pack that has speed and power that is well directed and gets fast play the balls.
We are in for a very long season

I must say i felt the same watching the game as well but Easts are pretty big as welland we didnt do a bad job handling them. We will just have to play to our strengths and run the big guys around in attack i guess. Without the ball it will take a lot of work tho .

Maybe this is the eternal optimism shining through . . . .

But if a team of huge players automatically means success, then the Warriors have been premiers for the last 10 years, yes ?

Our work is cut out for sure. This season is a work in progress to squeeze out the last traces of Sheens. ;-)
This re-buiding will be good for our soul.
I hope.

Hooker & half back aside, their smallest player is Asotasi (well maybe a bit of licence taken there), but size & speed across the park is my point.....being massive doesn't necessarily win the game, but combine it with power & speed & you have a potent combination. I'm no Souffs fan but I look forward to seeing how they shape up against a gun side.....meanwhile go Wests Tigers....... bring on the Knights

That is all I want to see, and then win, lose or draw I can walk away happy - would prefer the win though :)
