These are based on this weekends starting packs

For me it has never been about size, only impact. Most of our forwards simply lack impact, they try hard but don't dent the line.

I understand what you are saying. Example .Watmough is 94kg and Fulton is 94kg , clearly one has more impact than the other for the same size.

I think we have a better roster and a better coach to deal with what is thrown at us in 2013, although Iam not convinced we will do any better on the ladder. I see 2013 is all about setting a platform and desheening the place

We still have moltzen in the team.... reddy is still being considerd, utai is still around.... same shit different coach?

I think Moltzens time at fullback is limited, and Potter hasnt had a chance to change the roster yet so we are stuck with Utai, Tuqiri and Reddy for now. I am just hoping to see a stable halves combination, some better decisions with the ball in our own half and some stiffer defense - I can hope anyway.

For 10 years we have been coached to submit in tackles and run at markers as sheens believed it got quick play the balls. It worked for 12 weeks in 2005, apart from tha we regally got monstered.

When you are coached to submit it takes all aggression out, which gets carried over to defence too.

Potter won't be able to fix this over night, it will take some time to instill a whole new psyche into players.

Agreed, it will take time.

If coached correctly though, and if players perform, there is no reason why we can't do well.

You look at our likely pack this week, including benchies it is only really Anasta and Fulton that are not going to ever provide the sort of impact we need, regardless of how they are coached. The others are certainly capable.

A lot depends on Blair, IMO. He really needs to dent the line instead of turning his back and always looking for an offload. With Anasta there we don't need him for second phase, we need him to hit the line like a truck? Does he have it in him? Who knows.

Murdoch-Masila and Pettybourne need to step up too.

I'm guessing Woods is playing? If he is 100% fit this will greatly improve our chances. Woods coming off the bench with fresh legs will cause trouble for Newcastle defense.
