Round 1 team

I'm sure it's happened before. Plus we can afford 1 back on the bench.

Last year's Charity Shield was a great indication of who played in Round 1. I see no reason why it would be any different this year.

btw even if a back is picked, it won't be Lett. It will either be Emmett or Goodwin.

However, I get the feeling that Priddis will be there.

yeh that's what I'm concerned about. The Priddis angle. I don't mind Young playing a full game at lock but Priddis playing hooker is a big worry. Unfortunately there's no way Fien has a full 80 in him so there is little option.

Young at hooker is not the answer either.

The passing at hooker is a let down all round really.

Baring injury id like to see Fien play about 60 mins. Hornby move to hooker for the other 20 and either Stanley or Henry go into the halves off the bench

I tend to agree. I'd rather see Young move to hooker at some stage of the game and pick another forward on the bench than see Priddis there.

I wouldn't mind that idea if Stanley was there because his defence is up to it. I'd rather give Henry as much time as possible in NSW Cup before he plays NRL. He's worse than Mat Head in defence.

I hardly think that he's god with a 666 handle!
I like the experiment of Hornby doing a little time a #9 and would love to see Henry get a guernsey.
Scott is my first choice for right centre especially with Boyd's new-found input and Merrin has to be on the bench for mine

I think it's fairly obvious what the team will be really:

1 Boyd
2 Morris
3 Scott
4 Cooper
5 Nightingale
6 Soward
7 Hornby
13 Young
12 Smith
11 Creagh
10 Weyman
9 Fein
8 Prior

14 Green
15 Thorby
16 Saffy
17 Hunt

We have nobody else. The bench is our biggest worry until Costigan and Stanley return.

Is Greenfield available BBC? Or for that matter Merrin?
If so, Prior is a 2nd row alternative
Goodwin, Emmett and Lett are also there if required and will only get better IMO
I'm also a huge fan of Marketto and Henry
I think that depth isn't too much of a concern

Wayne is trying to get him to the big 300 games mark, I think he has 5 to go.

Besides getting a run in the CS why is Goodwin or Emmett a better option than Lett? They all can play the same positions and imo Lett sh*ts all over them both.

Team I think will be selected:

1. Darius Boyd
2. Brett Morris
3. Beau Scott
4. Matt Cooper
5. Jason Nightingale
6. Jamie Soward
7. Ben Hornby (c)
8. Michael Weyman
9. Dean Young
10. Dan Hunt
11. Jeremy Smith
12. Ben Creagh
13. Jeremy Smith

Interchange:
14. Jon Green
15. Nathan Fien
16. Jarrod Saffy
17. Matt Prior

Team I would like to see picked:

1. Darius Boyd
2. Brett Morris
3.Nick Emmett / Michael Lett / Bronx Goodwin (whoever suits centre best)
4. Matt Cooper
5. Jason Nightingale
6. Jamie Soward
7. Ben Hornby (c)
8. Michael Weyman
9. Nathan Fien
10. Jon Green
11. Beau Scott
12. Ben Creagh
13. Dean Young

You missed the point!

It's not about who the better option is...You said you expected Lett to play off the bench in Round 1, despite playing no part in the Charity Shield and two other outside backs did.

I think you're overestimating Lett's worth off the bench...he's only handy when someone gets injured in the backline. at fullback or wing. Emmett is more handy because he can play in the back row. Goodwin is more handy because he's just as versatile and can kick goals.
