These are not opinions, they're just negative comments from people with an axe to grind.

A comment in this context is an opinion put into words.

If you are of the opinion that you alone have all the answers, why go on a forum at all?

The only 'axe' that most of us have to grind is that we are sick of seeing the Sharks being also-rans.

I actually have a lot of respect for Flanno, and Price must have some really good ideas. We are just impatient for success.

Well lets be specific Coastal, in stead of just making loose sweeping statements.

Lets talk about Brown/Holmes. What the coach is looking for is a good defensive winger who is strong enough stop Sisa Waqa and is solid under a high ball. Holmes or Brown. Brown every time.
He's a proven first grade winger who will remain solid all game. He certainly doesn't have the flair and speed of Holmes, but he won't let the team down in a first round hit out.

What about Bird? A nineteen year old without 1st grade experience. A great player but his time will come. What about Gagan? Out injured, same as Lewis and Taga. What about Ayshford, he was a standout in the 9's.

I think we will see all these players get a fair run over the next month or so, but for our first serious outing, we need solid defensive players on the flanks and at the back, some speed and spontaneity in the centres and tough go forward up front. We have all of that. Ball playing forwards who can open up opportunities for Barba, Leutele, Beale and Gordon. Just be patient and stop wanting instant gratification.

As the young bull said to the old bull "lets run down there and pick out a cow and show her what we've got" Lets walk down there and show all the cows what we've got" Said the old bull.

Moot point. Waqa plays on the right, so he would be opposite out left winger, which happens to be feki.

Prior sucks as a selection. He has one game after that the trash he tossed up last yea, before he meets the Newtown coachr. Arona should drop of te bench for bird. Keep Fifita for size on the bench with tupou and heighington for some versatility. Bird as the what are you going to get.

I assume Gagan , Lewis , Tagatease & Houma are unfit.
So who else should have been picked ? , other than Holmes in the 13 or Bird in the 17 , which still might happen.
Who will be playing for Newtown on Saturday who should be in the 19 ?

I'm hearing Houma back Round 3 and Lewis 2 more weeks. Expect Houma back then. Believe Lewis when I see it. Gagan and Taga minor issues, back very soon. Probably play at a pinch, but big risk Round 1.

I agree with the poster who said we have to see a loss before the likes of Holmes gets a run. Look at it the other way. We should beat the Raiders and if we do there will be no changes. I don't think Flanno cares about NSW or Holden Cup form, but Holmes not playing won't help him in any way. Those expecting Holmes to replace Mitch Brown for Round 1 dream on. Same with Bird replacing Arona. More likely would be Taga replacing D Fifita. I forecast a Jack Bird dummy spit if gets limited chances. He didn't leave the Dragons for Reserve Grade. George will be ropable.

What are you basing your Prior assessment off? Was one of hour best in the back five games of last year, was very good in the nines, and was my pick for best on park from what you could see of the Tigers trial on their footage. Offloading at will, eating big metres and defending strongly.

This is a good round one squad. To whoever said you can take risks in round one, ask parramatta whether they preferred the two points they got in the first week or the zero points from their final three losses that led them to miss the finals... Every game matters.

Remember while you're telling Flanno to go f**k himself and wishing season ending injuries on guys you haven't seen play in our squad yet, that side features Paul gallen, andrew Fifita, Michael Ennis, ben barba, Gerars Beale, Michael Gordon, Anthony tupou and wade Graham...

Not saying be fluffy, but don't go getting shitty on what is the best side we've fielded for a couple of years

I'm prepared to wait and see what happens when some of the young guys really put pressure on the 'incumbents'. If Flanno keeps picking out of form players while the young guys are playing well after half a dozen rounds or so, then I think we have the right to have a go.

We are playing the raiders, who are tipped to fill the bottom part of the ladder.

There are players like Holmes/Bird who are ready to go, but Flanno goes old boys, so when do the gun kids get a go when we are to play the Rabbits and throw them in the deep water.

Count our blessings Price didnt mention to Flanno that he picked Prior in centres before.
Remember Bird left Dragon to play FG, and now at Sharks he has same coach in Price

Lets hope Flanno has the boys pumped for a big 70 minutes

Hahahahaha comparing him to blokes that we picked out of taren point maccas car park to make up our 17. He would have wanted to be one of our best in those games
