We all knew that was going to happen. We just hoped it wouldn't... Raiders will win. We will then give the youngsters one game at about the Round 3 or 4 mark. They won't set the world on fire because they would've lost confidence and will to succeed, and will promptly get relegated for the incumbents. After a couple of months they will be looking to sign elsewhere. Our ONLY hope is that the worst players get season-ending injuries, but that never happens, cause they're too busy bludging on the blind or missing tackles. Pass out the razor blades again...!!!

The saddest thing is, now we have to hope for some losses to see Gagan, Bird & Holmes.

How many dopes does it take to make a forum?

Those that know more about Rugby League and current players performance, than the Sharks Coaching team, line up here:

I think people have a right to be dissapointed mate. Every other team trys things, bloods youngsters, drops out of form players. I hope the coaching staff do know their stuff because clubs will be lining up to take our young guns from us if they are picking splinters from their arses for most of the year.

Well, you're contributing to the forum, so does that mean that you acknowledge that you are a dope?

The whole idea of a forum is that we get to share our ideas about something that we have a mutual interest in.

We are fans, and fans watch games. Yes, we sometimes get it wrong, but we are entitled to an opinion.

By the way, fans usually get it wrong when it comes to picking back-rowers, because we don't always see the toilers like the Beau Scotts and the Alan Tongues of the game, and we sometimes forget the fact defensive centres like Laurie Daley were actually fantastic players...

Again, we are allowed to express our opinion!

I actually think there would be quite a few. Based on Flanno's decisions over the last couple of years, I think we are entitled to voice our displeasure at certain selections.

Obviously you have blind faith in the Sharks Coaching team.

Not me - never been a blind follower, never will be. I still can't believe that Flanno was resigned for 3 years!

Where do I sign up. Seriously it's round one. Blood the kid, if he goes well great, if not and he costs the game then he learns and there is 25 more rounds.

No point blooding then in round 22, when we are fighting for 14th.

These selections set the tone for the season. After a good off season highlighted by the young blokes going well at the nines, they get beaten to the team by some of these other guys. It's not right and tells them they aren't good enough. Any confidence is taken away.

I think Holmes will replace brown and bird will replace arona

I assume Gagan , Lewis , Tagatease & Houma are unfit.
So who else should have been picked ? , other than Holmes in the 13 or Bird in the 17 , which still might happen.
Who will be playing for Newtown on Saturday who should be in the 19 ?

Let's see how they run out on Sunday - I'll be disappointed if Holmes doesn't make the squad then

He thought watching TV was having contact with the club, so he was a good boy & didn't watch.

Actually, f**k you Flanno.

These are not opinions, they're just negative comments from people with an axe to grind.

Hahaha.

So no-one on here is allowed to have a negative opinion?

Let's all be the fluffiest of fluffsters. FMD.

Well lets be specific Coastal, in stead of just making loose sweeping statements.

Lets talk about Brown/Holmes. What the coach is looking for is a good defensive winger who is strong enough stop Sisa Waqa and is solid under a high ball. Holmes or Brown. Brown every time.
He's a proven first grade winger who will remain solid all game. He certainly doesn't have the flair and speed of Holmes, but he won't let the team down in a first round hit out.

What about Bird? A nineteen year old without 1st grade experience. A great player but his time will come. What about Gagan? Out injured, same as Lewis and Taga. What about Ayshford, he was a standout in the 9's.

I think we will see all these players get a fair run over the next month or so, but for our first serious outing, we need solid defensive players on the flanks and at the back, some speed and spontaneity in the centres and tough go forward up front. We have all of that. Ball playing forwards who can open up opportunities for Barba, Leutele, Beale and Gordon. Just be patient and stop wanting instant gratification.

As the young bull said to the old bull "lets run down there and pick out a cow and show her what we've got" Lets walk down there and show all the cows what we've got" Said the old bull.
