I'll say it now and say it LOUD.

Daine Laurie deserves the no 14 jersey.

All the blokes including Chins would said he couldn't fill in on the wing if needed.

Start scraping that egg off ya face.

Its not popular but i still want Brad Schneider at 6. Just tackle and kick long occasionally.

Then if Blaize really can't defend then Cole is a lock for the 14
Cole was excellent tonight. Very different to Luai, but much straighter.

Best player though Kenny. Width out of dummy half got us to the edge every time; made the Tago try. Guys as strong as an ox.

So much hate for Laurie. Yep, he made some errors but so did plenty of others...Alomoti, Edwards, Smith, Garner for starters, everyone a bit rusty...its game 1. At least Laurie got across the line twice.

It amazes me how some get bent out of shape by one player. Laurie did a good job as a fill in the Mclean.

In my opinion he deserves first go at 14 jersey.

Don’t get me wrong. I thought Laurie was good this game. Came on and did his job in a position that is not his favourite; exactly what you need from a 14.

I just like the bigger body of Blaize, who I think could also play in the centres if needed.

Laurie had one knock on from my memory? No doubt I blew up when it happened but overall he had a good game. Edwards had more errors, if we have an elite player and trainer like him showing some rust I can forgive it in lesser players( assuming we get the two points)

Cole can play 1-7, would be fine at hooker and hits like a truck. I really hope Blaize works at 6 because Cole at 14 is almost perfect

Overall pretty happy to get the win and get out of there. The lack of trials really showed but the key guys stood up when it counted...Marto, Isaah, Nathan, Mitch Kenny. Thought Jack Cole was solid in the 6 and keeps his spot. Dylan a few heart attack moments but solid as usual. Thought Papali'i was good off the bench.

Onto next round, hopefully Bizza back so Casey can move to centre, keep Tago and Alamoti together because I, unlike many others, thought they looked promising on the right

Laurie has form with low concentration errors when bringing the ball out of the half.

Pantherball is built on the back three making metres in contact and low errors.

Laurie gets dominated and drops the ball unforced. He can get away with one of them but not both.

He can't be fourteen since his middle defence would lose every ruck.

Anyway I think that was very encouraging start, far from perfect but the issues that let sharks back in it were the same that we dealt with last year(discipline).

We executed some set plays brilliantly, loved seeing Nath jump around both sides of the field a bit more.

All in all I think it’s a much better start than our last two years, not just the win but the overall fluency when we switched on.

Didn’t really notice Luai and fish missing so that was good also.

Yes Edwards had way more clangers than Laurie.

Good honest footballer. I just want him fit and ready to play 1 if we need him because we won't let us down.

100% a 1 or 6 only and hes good enough to start there for many NRL clubs but he's not a utility
