Yes, he has earnt the ire of some, including me at times, for his defensives and physical deficiencies but he has taken about it with the right attitude. He wants to improve. When Sloan takes to the field he does it with passion and what seems to be a love of the club. Let's not forget his tough upbringing. Many others in his situation would have given up, jumped ship, whatever.

I'm not 100% sure I can find a place for him in the 17 right now. I'd have to give that more thought, but he will get his chance from Flanno and I feel he will prove a lot of doubters wrong. He had to bulk up. There was no other option.

Agree . Key word there is fit . Of the other wingers , Lawson is ineligible , CT recovering from a torn hamstring , Sloan looks overweight and is underdone with a bad foot , and Mika is done as a first grader .

Also Lawson is on a supplementary contract which means he can play from round 1. Not saying he will be picked, probably will be given some Cup games to acclimatise. But he’s not ineligible.

In regards to the bench, I think it should be made up of
R couch
Liddle
RFM
Hamish

loko is great attacking wise but we need to be solid defensively through the middle, Stewart is a great defender and can be a ball player (played 6 when he was younger). Loko and Egan will get their chances this year but now’s not the time

If you're thinking in place of Liddle, that loses our ability to rotate hooker position. Also loses Liddle's tackling ability through the middle. I think best to let Lawson play his way into the 17 via Cup. If he's good enough he'll get there.

If we dont have Klemmer then i agree .. the bench is close to Liddle/Ray/Ryan and then one of Stewart/Loko

If the plan is to roll one of the hookers through 13 when Jack has a break then you go with Loko ... in the trials/esp the 2nd one his running game was more impressive and that is what we are going to need from him.

loko's play the ball was the fastest in the shield so he will generate a good 1/2 punch for ryan to follow off.

Stewart has that lock future and can play edge but that is kind of the Ray/Ryan player anyway being able to run wide and in the middle ... you are tripping on that type which is not needed.

RR i do see merit in Stewart being in the 17

its feeling like he is being fast tracked

he is dangerous in attack near the line on the edge or middle as per original plans for him

but as u alluded to he is a goer in defence

If we want an extra forward to call upon at a level required come finals we will need game time into him

IF BMM was fit and firing i wonder who we would choose to start 2025 best 17? different to who we may finish with ?

will Loko play NSW and then come through middle of the season into NRL?

I mean BMM was only getting 15 to 25mins........and did a good job for metres off the bench..........LOKO should beable to do that mid season ?
