I love how everyone says Sprung!! When there would be heaps of footage of trainers out there doing it.Re the bolded: So why do it?
When our head coach puts out a book called: "Not everything counts, but everything matters", and then we get sprung doing something like this for fun it's a bad look.
Alan langer use to shoot water on the ball whilst it was sitting on the tee. If we were to get punished, they would have to go through and punish everyone.
All teams try this stuff at training to try and prepare for wet weather footy, trust me, unless you are using soapy or oily water, it doesn’t do anything.
Trainers do it, because they think it gives an advantage, but it really doesn’t, other than some kickers prefer the feel of a wet ball. There is no water on it when it get the opposing players.
You’re allowed to wash balls anyway, particularly if they get “foreign” contaminates on them, like, Vas, deep heat or that sticky spray stuff. As long as it’s plain water.
It’s bizarre to me that they are now trying to make out like this is some sort of secret Panthers tactic…
