This was my post in the Warriors Game Day thread. I'm posting it again today. The only thing different is the numbers.

We've scored 1 first half try in 4 games. When teams aren't tired and have good line speed the way Hook coaches attack simply doesn't cut it.

We only look good against tired teams. 3 games in a row now we've scored late tries.

0/6 against top 8 sides this year. 3/4 against teams outside the 8. Griffin does not have the skill to coach against good defensive line ups.

To build on that it seems they do better when they play natural. The forwards get some intensity and they start getting some attacking kicks.

Also as soon as Moylan gets involved more we look better as well.

Newcastle are really, really poor.
Stop being so kind. They f**king suck. Just like the Warriors.

14 and 22 point leads at half time. Thats an easy win if you arent shit.

But we are shit for giving those leads up too. No one looks good in this situation. Just play an 80 minute game ffs.

I'm looking like a genius right now l said at the start of the year panthers were a bottom 4 side and could win the spoon if the knights improved

Mate you are a genius. I told you to arrive here at 2.00pm though, why were you late?

It will take a f**king hell of a lot more than that to make you look like a genius. I think you would struggle to look only slightly below average in a mental asylum.

We have also been cut apart up the middle defensively in the first half. Why I can't figure out, although I prefer to have another look at the replay of the game.

Methinks it might be the inexperience in the younger players as far as defensive structure is concerned which is exacerbated by panic attacks.

A predictable come back (Cheers Rhyno) against a Newcastle side who don't have the talent to make an NRL first grade team.

Still another 2 points...

Re-gaining your confidence off the back of a huge comeback win doesn't appear to have worked for Penrith. They were gone after 20 minutes. Lets see if its second time lucky.

I'm far from impressed, but I thought there were a few positives. Peachey looked ok at hooker actually, a few poor passes but more good than bad. I don't know if hes a long term option but a pretty handy backup/benchy for sure. Merrin and Cleary probably had their best games of the year and despite the whinging in the game day thread about the refs we were far better than the Knights in the 2nd and our fitness is as good as any in the comp.

Once again it's a reminder that there's a really good footy team in amongst that mess.

Very lucky really. They fell apart in the middle and our forwards set up or scored three tries there, they gave it to us really. Then two tries off kicks, one of them an iffy call and the other an error that shouldn't have been made.

All I take from that game is the Tamou/RCG starting combination is a proven failure, as if more evidence of that should be required.
