Once he got the trademark shit pass out of the way and started running like a forward he was greatI think Latu was our best today. Ran harder then he has all year, looked like the Latu of last year.

Is that area still a haven for junkies and crack heads?
Yes mate I work in enemy territory and can tell you It is a haven for the mentally challenged and Junkie central.
And definitely not a true reflection of how we are travelling relative to other teams - our four wins coming against the Knights (twice!) the Tigers and the Warriors, all of whom will probably be spoon contenders.
The rest of the draw for us this year is also very soft - so I wouldn't be surprised if we make the eight from here and get eliminated in the first week of the finals.

He might have played better, but 77m and 3 missed tackles is still sub par. Far from our best.
Merrin 210m, 37 tackles, 2 misses
Tamou 153m, 23 tackles, 2 misses
Kikau 152m, 19 tackles, 1 miss
RCG 114m, 19 tackles, 2 misses
Browne 103m, 16 tackles, 2 misses
Akauola 62m, 3 tackles, 0 misses from 15 minutes.
The 'just Newcastle' line is being thrown around a lot but 'just Newcastle' did roll a strong Canberra side last week. They were poor the second half but I thought they were very good that first half. We're still a long way from the finished product but at least we're slowly moving in the right direction.
It only became 'Just Newcastle' when we beat them.
Last week on here it was 'Newcastle have been playing great all year' except the last time they played us.
There isn't going to be enough metres to around when all of our pack is playing well. Latus stats may be sub par but his performance was great, he had a massive impact.
Not having Yeo shouldn't go unnoticed. Plus the fact that Wallace went of with a lot of game time to go as well as Cartwright injured shows IMO,how much of a great win this was.
Merrin Moylan and Tamou have played themselves into SOO selection because of this win. Those players stood out and won it for us when the odds were really stacked against us.
I think a lot of the time the defence is pressuring us and shutting us down before blake can get early ball.
This is why we struggle against good defences. The last 2 weeks have started kicking more and not only got 3 tries from it. It will lead to defences maybe hanging back which means we can use the sweeping play and send our backs over
The last two weeks the variation(and effectiveness) in our kicking games has been night and day. Moylan and Cleary are both actually very good at using the grubber, its crazy to think they were not being allowed to use it. Before that we were just hoping someone fumbles a bomb to get the ball back.
