I never said Madge recruited players. I said it's an issue all coaches at Tigers will face. They want a player. The club has to pay overs to get them unless that player is looking for an opportunity. They then need to fear that player leaving once he has established himself. Doesn't matter who's negotiating the deals. Madge has a say who he wants to keep and target. Anyone he wants will cost more than they would to a successful club.
Adam Doueihi is an average player with lots of talent. He hasn't cemented himself in any position yet. Jumping between fullback, half and centre. Nothing has worked yet and never will because some players just don't quiet fit in anywhere even when they're good enough you feel you must include them.
Blame Cleary all you want for substandard players ln overs. But that's exactly what Tigers did before he arrived and after he left. That's the only type of recruitment Tigers can get. You think Adam Doueihi is an excellent player? Yet he's no better than Josh Reynolds, he's just not busted yet.
Ivan jumped off the bus before Tigers threw him under it. All he did wrong was sign a contract beyond the one he already had. The rate Tigers sack coaches there's an odds on chance they would have sacked him before then anyway. He wasn't the best recruiter. But he shouldn't have been in charge of managing the salary cap in the first place. It was incompetence from the Tigers board to put so much responsibility on a single person with no experience at doing that.

What happened before and after Clearys despicable tenure with our signings has no bearing on his garbage recruitment and the way he conducted himself during his final weeks. Under his watch, he made a negative contribution to the club and was a miserable failure. He left in disgrace.
