Question is,who gets the first player in the bin? Every game last round had a player sent off for repeated infringments. The team that doesn't put themselves in that situation, will go along way in determining which way the game will go. If either team didn't prepare for that scenario, then life will get unbearable depending how much ones captain keeps jibbering st the ref after a penalty.

You never see lopsided counts. Get it out of the way early and ride the momentum home

Yep, exactly. Penalty count last week was like 9-2 against us at half-time (incl the Merrin sin bin). Count ended 11-11. Neither side really deserved to be hammered 9-2, but at least if we're giving away early penalties we are still fresh, and if we manage to score (or deny) tries while conceding bulk penalties, it's a massive mental hurdle for the opposition.

Refs are instructed to keep them close so not to seem bias. There is no way we improved that much in the 2nd half it is like they stop looking and only call what they need to until it's evened up

I was there at that game.

Dragons were totally decimated in that first half, but did well to make it a close score line at the end.

I still remember the post match conference when Trent Barrett said that it was a close match but they'll regroup and bounce back the following week. Unfortunately the Cowboys had other ideas..........
