You might avoid the spoon if Minichello gets injured so RTS can play fullback, Pearce retires and Jake Friend develops an ability to do anything out of acting half.

Well the other issue is that SBW is due an injury soon just before announcing his return to Union next season.

But in all seriousness how has Mitchell Pearce and Jake Friend lasted so long at the Roosters I don't know. They almost got the squad right for this season when there were rumours that Pearce was gonna go. I'm sure you could find a guy who can kick bombs and is a decent defender at 1/4 of the price. Or a guy who has slow service out of acting half and likes getting run over at 1/8th of the price of Jake Friend for example.

You can't blame him for the loss because our halves went MIA. When you have even possession and make over 1600 metres the forwards have laid the required platform that the halves need and they turned up dross all night long.

It's easy to blame flipper hands but the reality is that game was lost all due to Pearce & Maloney.

Disagree

Pearce and Maloney were definitely subpar but as you said, the forwards really laid the platform from the 20th minute onwards. Our attack came up against a committed defence and for once managed to maintain pressure. They finally cracked sue to another good piece of work by SBW and SKD inexplicably stuffs it up.

Do you not agree we would have won had that try been scored?

I can see both sides but am with TT here.

The SKD incident was unforgivable and we probably would have won if he scored (repeat probably)...but I can't get away from the fact that our halves didn't ice the game when they had the opportunity.

There was some really ordinary stuff from Pearce in that 2nd half. I've always defended him but he disapointed me big time last night.

If the halves even remotely played decent we win the game 12-10. The second half tries were directly their fault so I can't pin the blame at all on SKD. There was still another 20 or 30 minutes to go. If it happens with a few minutes left okay I'll agree but not early in the second half.

Pearce - must have done that short ball to Aubusson 10 times in the second half and he got a pass away once.

Maloney - don't think Tupou got a clean chance at a kick all night. Tupou's batting down of the ball very annoying as well.

Shit decision making and both did the same thing over and over again in the opposition 20. We had enough ball and territory to win and our halves have us nothing.

I agree with H.H that Pearce was especially disappointing.

Our halves looked like they had one eye on origin to me. At least for the first 60 mins of the game. Pearce then decided to rush every single play. Dumb play and jimmy was barely seen. Think I remember him taking the line on once in the game. Disappointing but it's hardly the end of the world.

Still haven't lost back to back so be interesting to see how Robbo has the team ready for the mutts on Friday.

Also I didn't realise MK made as many metres as he did, must've been blinded by his ridiculous read in defence for the first try.

Does anyone believe we have any real hope on Friday night?

SBW will have to play amazing for us to win and our defence will have to get back to its best.

We were trying to score off every set, our attack was all over the place.

No but I think they'll put the effort in. To be honest, I'm not quite sure what to make of the Dogs revival. Their wins haven't been that convincing. A bit like ours of late.

I don't think we have a hope with most of our key players out I won't grabbing the razor blades. I was excited to see Langi get a shot but now with his injury we're in trouble. I heard Ryley Jacks name get mentioned on Sunday, f**k me if that's true

I never thought we would win the comp anyway so I'm not concerned about slipping further behind Souffs & Melbourne.
