Storm should have taught Momo how to f**k 2 on 1 situations like Crichton does and how to read defences like Naden, that's how players get rated around here.

Crichton is far better at setting up his winger than Momo. He’s better at everything tbh you have lost the plot completely if you can’t see that.

Staines reads the game really well and is obviously a smart footy player. His decisions in defence are normally spot on and his positioning and timing on the end of backline movements is great. Hes also shown flashes of silky hands in very limited opportunities. Then he’s obviously shown in flashes very good pace.

Those attributes are why he’s been great at fullback in lower grades and I’d say why he’s had a free run on the wing even though he’s been very patchy. Put 5kg on and build some confidence in his body to not fall apart and he’s a great prospect.

I would not mind seeing Naden in his place at least for a few weeks.

Can't wait to see Ratu Nadurutalo come in on the wing in case of injury. Hat trick V Newtown and runs like a Mack truck.

Crichton's a much better prospect than Momo for sure and he would be my preference at right centre, but people relentlessly pile on Momo for the simple fact it gives Staines an excuse for going like a busted.

The amount of times last year I heard 'Staines would've taken that half chance that Mansour couldn't' and now it's clearly not happening that way, those people need a scapegoat. Enter Paul M.

Staines is on track to score more tries in a season than Mansour ever has, he is not going like a busted at all all he very clearly finishes chances that mansour would not.

Staines is never going to be a metre eating winger if you are expecting that from him of course you won’t be happy. He’s a very good defender and finisher abd he very good instincts for the game nothing that has happened the last two weeks has changed that.

With the way he plays it is obvious that he had such a run dominated mindset that coaches must have thought that since he hardly passes it - he may as well just play in the centres instead. The problem with that is, there is now even LESS space for him to pass after he goes for a run and he does this often. If we play Momo due to injury/suspension then there is not much point in playing someone like Staines - may as well play a metre eater winger.

Yeah he comes off that right foot quite a lot and runs away from Staines, I defended it earlier in the year as it was a new combination etc but it there are plenty of times he should just give staines early ball or draw the defender to him and put staines away(which he can do) but he comes off his right instead. He has the skills we have seen him with the catch and pass etc but Critta has those skills as well and he looks for it more. Might've been worth leaving Critta on the right the last two weeks and playing Momo on the left but it is what it is.

Same. The main one there was the Kikau thing. Not just fans questioning his form by the looks of it.

Kikau too goes to how he is being used. Look at early in the year particularly the Bulldogs and Manly game.

He was being used a decoy and they went behind him to Burton or Crichton. Then would play short to him creating doubt. The last month or so we have had some bad habits from 2019 creep in. That includes just shoveling it too Kikau when inside the 20 instead of setting up the plays. All is so rushed

Nope Mansour is not even ESL standard now. Naden is yet to have a run in FG. He could do the same as Staines is as would Jennings

A lot of those untouched ones would be contested if we had a slower winger there or do you think speed isnt a factor in him making it to the line untouched?

I genuinely can't think of many tries he's scored thus far that Jennings wouldn't of scored, with far less output in other areas.

You dont win games without scoring, people tend to underestimate the importance of good finishing IMO. He defends and attacks well he just doesnt make metres. You can sit here and say Jennings would've scored all the tries that Staines did but he hasnt has he? Jennings just played two games if it is that easy why didnt he bag a few tries? Staines speed sets him apart in his finishing, I think Jennings and Nado would be getting hit by defence many times Staines goes over untouched.

I am terrible at editing stuff. Here you have 3 of Staines tries. All of them he gets it around 10m out after the inside guys created the space. Any NRL winger should finish in those cases.

Most tries from memory are very similar. Both in Dubbo were

Burton has played only on the left side. Either centre 2 in or moved in one to be 5/8th.

Crichton had 3 games at left centre.
Then fullback for 5 weeks.
right centre for a couple more.
Then fullback for 2 more.
Back to the left for the last 2 losses
Now is back at right centre.

It is great he is so versatile but the downside is it is hard for consistent form
