I doubt Blake plays FG this week. NSW Cup play before perfect chance to get a hitout there. I think Lui-Toso will play just the rest of the makeup is to be decided
Maybe someone close to the team has indicated this, but Mansour played first grade in his first game back from an ACL this time last year, and I'll bet he (Sauce) doesn't return through reserve grade when he comes back this time either. I'm sure they have their reasons. Maybe the nature of the injury.

Uate is out for the remainder of the season with a Syndesmosis Injury.

The footy gods thought he had come to us, but in all fairness Manly are having a bad season with injuries too.

Wing is different though. Centre defensively is the hardest position on the field it is his decisions under fatigue that is the problem. Unless Peachey starts in backrow for CHN then it makes no sense having Peachey on the bench with an underdone Blake is out there.

Penrith Panthers look to regrip contender status against Manly

Three weeks after beating the NRL benchmark, Penrith have found a new one.

After breaking camp for the week during representative round, the Panthers will look to reassert their status as premiership contenders when they host Manly on Saturday.

And Anthony Griffin's side will have plenty to prove having had their credentials questioned with a 26-point pummelling by the Sydney Roosters before the bye.

The defeat came just two weeks after doing the same number on pace-setters St George Illawarra.

"You need one of those throughout the season, just a real kick in the butt to reassure ourselves that we're not going as well as we think we are," Panthers forward Trent Merrin said.

"We needed to have a good look at ourselves, especially heading into the back end of the season."

The Panthers veteran believes it's imperative the team start marking themselves more rigorously as they look to take advantage of their current top-four status.

And it begins by taking the harsh lessons from their Roosters no-show.

"That game set the standard to where we need to be," Merrin said.

Coach Anthony Griffin's side took a giant hit last week following confirmation pack leader Reagan Campbell-Gillard would miss six weeks a broken jaw.

However his exit will be somewhat offset by the possible return of Waqa Blake (ankle), Moses Leota (pectoral) and Viliame Kikau (knee) to take on the Sea Eagles.

Blake hasn't played since round five, and will add some serious strike to their backline.

"He's done really well to get himself right, he's ticked all the boxes and working real hard," Merrin said.

"We all know what he's capable of doing on the field. It'll be another strike weapon in the team to have back, especially the back end of the season, to have a player like that come back."

The match will double as a farewell to recently retired veteran Peter Wallace.

Martin Taupau is still stranded in Denver.

The Sea Eagles' Kiwi enforcer Martin Taupau remains stranded in Denver after electrical storms delayed United Airlines flights on Monday, and is racing the clock to make it back for Manly's clash with Penrith on Saturday.

Even if Taupau does make it back in time, he is certain to be feeling the effects of jetlag - hardly the ideal preparation for a clash with the high-flying Panthers and their powerful pack.

Already missing a host of injured players including Akuila Uate, Apisai Koroisau, Jack Gosiewski, and with the continued exile of Jackson Hastings, the last thing the battling Brookvale club needed was for one of their best forwards to get lost in transit.

As the last Kiwi left in Denver on Tuesday, Taupau's frustration was understandable, and he erupted on Twitter, accusing the airline of issuing an "empty apology" and describing the situation as "beyond ridiculous".

I’m sorry, but i won’t accept such an empty apology, clearly this is another one of those standard lines to your disappointed customers. Beyond ridiculous! https://t.co/pTJh3hJXTb

Another F***ING delayed flight which is highly likely to be cancelled due to mechanical issues. Now the last player stuck at @DENAirport with staff that has been patiently waiting for over 8hrs on the back of a cancelled flight yesterday! @UNITED is by far the worst airline ever! pic.twitter.com/bnV07mzGeX

Roosters flogged us, we flogged Dragons, Dragons flogged Roosters. It's a bit rock, paper, scissors.

Personally, I will be overjoyed just to secure a win against the Sea Eagles and no more serious injuries. They have endured a tough and disappointing season but still have some quality players and on there day can beat anybody.

Panthers coach Anthony Griffin has named his side to face Manly Warringah Sea Eagles at Panthers Stadium on Saturday.

Griffin has been able to name a 23-man squad on account of the high participation of Panthers players in representative teams last weekend.

The loss of Reagan Campbell-Gillard to a broken jaw has been offset by the return of Viliame Kikau (medial ligament) and Moses Leota (pectoral) from their respective injuries.

Waqa Blake is still sidelined as he recovers from his syndesmosis injury, while Corey Harawira-Naera has been given the week off to help manage a groin issue.

The Panthers will wear the 2018 Home Jersey.

Sad to see Blake still out. On the flip side it's so good to get Kikau and Leota.

Getting Kikau and Leota back hasn't really strengthened the team over the one that lost to Roosters. They're just in for freshly injured guys which really sucks.

Kikau in for CHN, Leota in for RCG. Hetherington, Ellis and Egan still leaves us with an average bench. These are the guys we need to be upgrading. Along with our wingers.

Kikau is better than CHN in my opinion.
