Weren't you saying Coyne is now firmly part of the boys club etc etc and even he hasn't helped as he endorsed Mary's case for wing re-signed.

I can't keep up with this mess!
Yes, and now he is trying to ensure his endorsement has some credibility. And It's only my opinion, NOT FACT.

So explain how this works? In your head that is?
Mary has been treading water ever since becoming first grade coach. Seeing Price fail so badly, he thought it would be easy to improve on Price's results but failed to consider the camparison would always be our results in the competition.

In the past I'm sure he has turned to former Dragons coaches or others for advice. Now Coyne has played a significant role in change the structure of the football department to the extent that Mary has less to do and is no longer responsible for recruitment stuff ups. Add that to the fact that Coyne has endorsed Mary as coach and it is clear to me that Coyne would be Mary's first stop when needing advice. Coyne would not want his reputation trashed either.

All just my opinion.

Do you think maybe that your dislike of Mary and Millward might be clouding your judgement and that you are just creating scenarios in your head that suit your agenda?
You have absolutely no reason to think that anyone else than the coach is responsible for these selection changes but you have created an OPINION that it was coyne who now advised Mary to select Mann at 7 and not include Matthews.
Cmon Possm. We all have strong opinions and are entitled to them but stop creating scenarios to support your opinions.

I think with Vaughn injured this is our best 17. If he were not injured, he takes LAM's starting spot and host drops out and it is the strongest team we can play.

Hoping Aitken/Frizell are not underdone.

There is also nothing to indicate that Coyne has coaching/selection nous.

Unless you are willing to use the dragon's coach recruitment formula: played for the club, good bloke, bleeds red and white.

I still don't see the value in Sele on the bench, not big enough to have any major impact. I'd have Host over him in my strongest side.

There is talk on twitter from someone who looks like they've been at dragons training session on goldy, that Blake lawrie will be in the 17 at the expense of Host, and Joel Thompson has liked the post so I'm thinking it could be on the money. Pretty excited to see this guy run around!

Bit tough on Host - I thought he played strongly last week.
On the other hand, I am curious to see Lawrie play so will not complain as a spectator.
I just hope he gets more than a few minutes.

Slam dunk.

Possm, I always love a spirited debate with you bud.. But there is a difference between having an opinion and making unsubstantiated claims.
You don't know that it was "selection advice from Coyne".
You don't know the numbers of our current salary cap and which player is on what amount of money.
You don't know the situation that led to Dugan and Packer leaving.
You don't know how player/manager negotiations work.

Crush is spot on, too often do you create scenarios to suit your agenda. It's one thing to dislike Mary and Millward, but to think up these ludicrous ideas and claim them as fact is just ridiculous.

Lawrie on debut and Mann starting at halfback, how exciting!

I agree it is exciting but i also agree that it is tough on Host.

For mine I think without Vaughan we could use 4 forwards on the bench.
