I'm really concerned if we let him go early. We are already SO weak in middles. He has been IMMENSE for us.
You haven't been concerned for a long time, you defend the coach and his poor record every chance you get.

Time for you and others to admit your error in judgement and demand a coaching change and meaningful changes to football operations to boot.

I like this team.

When you've got a forward pack that'll make sure the vast majority of the game will be spent inside our own 30 and two centres who haven't passed the ball yet this season, it makes sense to put a couple of second rowers on the wings.

And given the latest recruitment rumours, it look like we're not far from naming edge forwards 1 through 17.

I just hope that the club knows what it is doing because most of us wouldn't have a clue what their intentions are going forward. I can see that a lot of the young guys will be playing first grade next year and the club will no doubt be really trying to sign a couple of big, mobile tough middles and a dynamic winger and will be looking at ensuring that the halves will be the best we can put on the field one being Atkinson. Will I or am I right?

Yes you are mate....look at it this way as old as I am ( and my time is running out) I would sooner give our young brigade more 1st grade experience to build for the future rather than keep acquiring journeymen that most other clubs are offloading....to be fair I'm not opposed to adding some aging experienced players because that's where young blokes acquire their skill sets but I am opposed to these journeymen getting maximum game time whilst our younger brigade are pulling splinters out of their arses on the bench.....it hasn't worked in the past and imo it won't in the future

Agree Tonga has only been getting 20 -30 minutes a game and now has been dropped for Fifita (where the hell his selection has come from is mind boggling) nobody could write this script!, what is it doing for Tonga's confidence surely Tonga has more to offer this team than Guler .

I was eagerly awaiting LPT getting his debut on the back of last year and the obvious NSW U19s. But l have been a little underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, I see LPT as part of the future... but he wouldn't be the first young player to have spent too much time reading his headlines. The only time l really noticed him is missing his assignment back on the inside which might explain him named in the added reserves and getting short minutes at this stage.
I think Fifita may be on his "here's your last chance - show us what you have or your papers get stamped".
Looking forward to Halangahu playing reggies tomorrow. After a few stand-out games against men and he will ready for First's next year. A back row of Halangahu; Egan and Stewart and "Nicky Tee" on the bench to cover centre/backrow rotation sounds pretty good to me. If that comes off who gets the kudos for bringing them together? Maybe everything is not wasted this year afterall? It just depends how you want to look at it.

If we can't sign any new halves for 2026, I'd say play young Reed to 7 and Atinkson to 6. Move Ilias on and select Kyle and LKT in reserve grade.

Halangahu to grab a bench spot in first-grade soon. Halangahu and Egan to be our future pair of edge forwards.

Tonga, Stewart and Jett Liu to be our bench forwards.

As soon as possible, move on:
Lawrie
Rava
Sloan
Ilias
Klemmer
RFM
BMM
Suli
Leilua
De Belin already moving on

My 2026 NRL Dragons Team:
1. Ramsey
2. Lawson
3. Cutherson
4, Hollmes
5. CT
6. Atkinson
7. Reed
8. New Marquee prop
9. Cook
10. T Couchman
11. Eagan
12. Halangahu
13. Stewart

14. Liddle
15. Tonga
16. R Couchman
17. Nick T

I like your comments Jim. My concerns revolve around the coaching. With a player like LPK, if you watch reels of him through the lower grades, he is at his best when he gets a head of steam up. For some reason, he receives the ball standing very flat. That's literally nullifying his biggest strength. Crazy. The try he scored was a classic example. Came onto the ball. He's a big lad. I wish we could develop a better style of play in every aspect of the game. We're behind other teams in so many facets of play. Defensively, we're as poor as. DeBelin, our best forward, turns up every week, and we let him go. Anyways, as you pointed out, we have a talented blend of juniors coming through. The fact that they have all played together is a bonus. Hopefully we'll get there soon. Trying to be patient. I'll be watching the reggie's too. Go Dragons!!!

As for this game; the last two matches to Eels have been woeful losses in different ways in desperate scenarios.

I hope we win but if we get beaten at home, it will hopefully heap more pressure on the club to be shaken out of their comfort of mediocrity. Heads need to roll and sometimes a win does more damage than good. Maybe we need the spoon at this point.
