He is probably 2 seasons from getting his best. Needs another pre season to get fit then another year or so to have the same impact after longer minutes
It seems like an age since we had lower grades, but iirc Spencer had a pretty decent motor when he was in reserves. In a few years if he can produce similar to JFH but with his own style he will be a weapon.

I like him off the bench for the moment, don't want to burn him out too early. Maybe next year give him a start against a weaker pack & see hoe he goes. Time is definitely on his side, no need to rush it.

I honestly don't think him starting next year would be rushing it assuming he has a good off-season. He hasnt put a foot wrong yet and he physically is more than handling it.

A full off season and he can get fit enough to I think, he doesnt look overly gassed with the minutes he is getting, the kid rarely misses a tackle.

He did but missed this pre season. Was injured until round 6 or 7. So started the year behind the 8 ball

Yeah but you don't want to do what Broncs are doing to Haas...That kid will be busted by 24

The whole point of the set restart is that the defending side does not get the play stopped when they are penalised, thus enabling the defence to reset. This is equally so with markers not square.

Yeah I understand the intent, and in practice, I like it. I'm also trying not to derail the conversation here.

But markers not being square is the exact same rule as not retiring the 10m in the rulebook. I shouldn't be surprised anymore that the NRL is bastardising the rulebook, but here we are. As stated, I reckon we'll see more and more 'penalties' become set restarts over the next few years. Hopefully they start by standardising the 'penalty' for not being onside.

Yeah i dont like what they are doing with him but he is playing 80 minutes in a busted team, i'd never want to play Spencer 80 minutes and if we were going anywhere near as bad as the donkeys I probably would be more careful with Spencer, but we have a great pack and possibly a spot opening up, if he works hard enough for it over the off-season I dont think it would be a huge risk to start him and play him reasonable minutes given what he is showing already.

Getting ahead of myself here. But in 2021 I'd prefer to see Tetevano start if Tamou walks. I'm sure Leniu could start but he would be a real impact player for us off the bench. He could still play 50-60 minutes.

Think the way RCG was used back in the day. Very effective off the bench. If Leniu and Leota both churn out consistent performances like last week against the Broncos then we would have amazing punch off the bench.

I love the impact we get off the bench from Tetevano and Leinu. I'd start Leota to keep the balance that is working

Could be a wet night.I actually think it suits us more than them .We like to wear down and power with our forwards .They on the other hand can get flashy as times.
Suits us more

We have the home ground advantage, and Nathan being more familiar with the rule changes too.
