Lets just hope the refing doesn't spoil a good game..... consistency is all we ask for.

It's not always about the penalties either, it's all the other calls in a game too like all those 50/50's!

Uh huh. Well then, case closed....

I hope the refs penalise when its needed. If a team infringes twice as often as the other thats their fault they get penalised 12-6 against, yes even aginst the Tigers. Penalties arent meant to be divided out evenly.

Hi mate,
I haven't been able to get to a game all year but am desperately trying to make it happen for this one.

I don't think it's going to happen, but would love to catch up if we could make it happen. Either way it should be a wonderful occasion, so enjoy.
Sounds good to me Stan. At this stage I’m just gonna find the nearest person wearing res and green and ask them if they’ll be my friend :p Would love to catch up with a fellow Bunnies tragic and forum member. Good luck, hope you get there.

I think every team always feels hard done by when they lose the penalty count. I was actually at the Canberra vs Cowboys game last weekend, because I’m studying down there and I thought the reffing was pretty fair, but there’s always gonna be supporter bias that states the opposite. I definitely think I have supporter bias.

I think we just all hope the refs don’t decide the game and the players actually do. Should be a great match though. I’m keen to see Farah and Cook go head to head more than anything.

Agree and see where you are coming from. However how often does a referee decide a game? Even when they have an absolute howler I.e the penalty against us in extra time to the broncos I don’t believe it cost us the game. We missed 2 shots at field goal earlier. If we kicked them it’s game over. The good teams take it out of the refs hands.

When Ken Sio dropped the ball over the line v you guys it was effectively a 12 point drop as you scored next set and wrapped the game up. Now imagine if Sio put the ball down, but the refs ruled forward pass when it was 2m backwards. Then souths scored next set. We wouldn’t hear the end of it about how the refs cost Newcastle the game. It would be the headline everywhere. Refs make mistakes, players make a hell of a lot more. Why do the players get off so easily?

I hate when it’s a 3-3 penalty count and the commentators say the refs let the players decide. When the refs put the whistle in the pocket more often then not the players take this as a sign that they can be as offside as they want. To me this means the refs are actually deciding it more then the players as they’re allowing them to break the rules.

This.
A teams error count will always outnumber a referee's.

Anyone know if there are any special functions or events to celebrate Sutto’s 300th or is it just like any other game?

I'm not too sure aye. I think that maybe the fact that this is technically our away game means we may not be able to. I assume they'll be a banner of something like that that all the boys run through though.

Sutton's front row seats to Rabbitohs' incredible evolution: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2...-row-seats-to-rabbitohs-incredible-evolution/

What a fantastic article that is!!

Barely any consistency whatsoever is the issue!

Daily Telegraph was stating that Souths aren't happy at all with the Tigers as they won't honour Sutto..... it's added fuel to the fire apparently was pretty much what it said in the headline.. I clicked on that article and it said you have to subscribe...

We will probably have something the week after at our home game v Parramatta I'd say!

The DT have made a big deal out of not much. You are getting to honour him. Pascoe simply said he didn’t want the Sutton 300 to take the gloss off Farah’s 250th, which they had plans for. However he then says he is happy to do stuff and is cooperating with the NRL and Souths.

It’s a Tigers home game, not Souths. Ryan Hoffman recently played his 250th away from home and the Storm honoured him next week at home.

Barely any consistency whatsoever is the issue!

Hard to disagree with that

I think it’s more about the Tigers aren’t happy with the NRL. The game day videos etc will be about Robbie as it’s the Tigers home game and that’s far enough. But the NRL actually has the rights when it comes to the field markings of ALL games, and the NRL are changing the 30 metre markings into 300 for Sutto. The Tigers have the shits with this and are demanding the NRL don’t do it. Souths have got the shits with the Tigers for trying to take that honour from Sutts. So while all the off field stuff will be about Robbie the 300 markings will be there for Sutts.

Thanks mate!

Rightly so!!!

This adds even more spice to the contest...

If it was Farah' 300th and our home match I wouldn't mind if there was something on the field markings for Robbie!

If the NRL have the field marking rights they should do a halfway shield with #Robbie250 one side and #Sutto300 the other.
