You'll need more than that to take my "Most negative" title Billy

But seriously, who decides after one game without Moylan at 6 that Moylan at 6 is a problem DESPITE THE FACT WE WERE SHITE FOR MOST OF THE SEASON WITH MOYLAN AT 1? Like... what? I can't even fathom that thinking. It's bizarre.

What is this obsession our club has with the idea that we can't have two playmakers? Now that Cleary has shown he can control a game, we want to set up so he's the only one who can do it? Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Seriously, it would be like Queensland refusing to play Cronk and Thurston together because they may step on each other's toes. f**king stupid.

I think the craziest thing might be that after that game Gong wants Edwards dropped for May. May was solid and is a great prospect but to anoint him our 6 at the expense of both Moylan and Edwards in some way after one warriors game is crazy.

Cleary is not ready to play like that each week he's still a baby. While he def should be allowed more responsibility in terms of getting the ball when he calls it we can't really make him any more involved with our attack without forcing it on him and expecting him to come up with plays. He didn't run the ball more last night than he usually does, he was just better when he did, he has always since debuting read the defence and picked good times to run. Let's just let him keep developing instead of trying to force it.

I'm the first to put my hand up and say and say Billys and betcats negativity gives me the shits.... but Im with them on Matt Moylan situation..... No way in the world do you split up Cleary and Moylan from the halves.... Tyrone May is a good young player but i think with his size he will end up a ball playing lock anyway.

Moylan and Cleary have the potential to be the best halves in the comp.

Ofcourse you did. Griffin can do no wrong.

Browne helped put us under the pump from the opening set. His defence is soft. His runs are soft. He offers nothing.

He has no impact in tackles or runs. He's as generic as it gets. Griffin loves tha t in his forwards though. Drops anyone who tries to run hard.

That opinion has nothing to do with Griffin, it's in defence of Browne. But if it was about Griffin How is it any different to you putting shit on Griffin for every decision he makes regardless of outcome?

You're right though, the reason he dropped Kikau was because he ran hard. Had nothing to do with the 10 errors he made in the last 5 games.

It's because people see one good outcome and think that will fix everything. The same thing is happening on facebook. Fans often have no sense of the big picture.

It was nice to see JFH play big minutes and look strong, he will have impact off the bench. Also Yeo is a good hole runner but he also does well with early ball, a lot of his breaks and half breaks come when he gets the ball well before the defensive line, he makes much better metres on those runs also.

Edit: Tyrone May can literally play everywhere but prop. Since 2015 in the lower grades he has played hooker, half, lock, full back and in the centres and always handles it, he would be perfect off the bench for the time being. Covers everything and is a smart running player.

Exactly, if Moylan and Cleary can find a balance in their combination that allows them both to be at their best then it would be a thing of beauty, you've got two halves with great vision, running, ball playing and kicking and Cleary at least is already a great defensive half.

Great win after a dodgy sin bin. RCG what a game as well as JFH after all his injuries this year he will be a weapon once he gets fitter, great debut by Tyrone May, apart from being burned by Johnson had a very solid debut, looked every inch the 1st grader, I'm liking our hooker rotation at the moment as well with Rein on for about 50mins and then Katoa bringing us home, and what can you say about Nathan Cleary, what a great game,

Didn't watch the game, but watching highlights of Cleary killing it was awesome. Get him and Moylan complimenting each other, let Edwards continue his development, and we are definitely on to something.... especially if Cartwright was in the 13 spot.

Five points from the game:

1. Brandy's coaching of Cleary is starting to bear fruit. His kicking game was excellent. Short kicks into the in goal, kicks for the line to give our team a breather and midfield bombs to allow the kick chase to close down the Warriors kick returns. A big improvement. Let's hope he can continue with this variation. The flat 'Cronk' kick to the winger next please Brandy.

2. The sin binning was the softest ever. Luke was hardly disadvantaged at all by the slight body check he received. We'll be binned for frowning too much at this rate. Based on that standard Manly should have had their entire team in the bin for the penalties they conceded. On the plus side we didn't spill our lollies and managed to turn around the huge momentum it gave the Warriors.

3. The forwards were a bit hit and miss. I don't get Latu. He has slots of skill but doesn't want to do the tough stuff. 61m, 10 tackles (3 missed!) in a team missing its most experienced forward through injury. It was time for him to step up and he just went missing. Again. Thankfully, JFH, Browne and CHN were up for it.

4. RCG was immense, he just thew himself at the Warriors forwards. His aggression lifted the team when we needed it. He needs to work on his tackling so he misses fewer. Rather than big hits, focus on making them stick. The big hits will come. That said, a great game and made the difference to the team when he was on. Somebody send Aaron 'marshmallow' Woods a copy of the game.

5. Another junior debuted in first grade. There are plenty who bucket Griffin and some times he just seems like he doesn't have what it takes. But he has got to get credit for bringing through so many juniors in the short time he has been here. I will also say that they all seem to cope OK so the way they are being brought through the system is working. Contrast that with the Cleary and Elliot eras and it is the biggest single change at the club. A change for the better.

"That was the try of the year". So said Daryl Halligan as the Warriors scored against a Penrith team with a player in the sin bin. I'll say it slowly so you can get it. We are were a player short, the overlap was not due to the amazing teamwork and vision of Johnson! Seriously, give yourself a dozen uppercuts and a roundhouse kick to the head.

Hopefully Brandy and Moyza can take something from this game and continue the development of what could be an awesome combination.

Yep Cleary, Moylan and Edwards are 3 smart players I'm sure they can work it out eventually. Young Egan is doing his best to claim our long term hooker position atm so if he kicks on we could be set for a while.

Warriors fan here.

First of all, congratulations.

Cleary is a gun. Moylan is exceptional too, and it boggles the mind to hear people pointing to him as being a liability of any kind, rather than an asset. With due respect to Edwards and May, you're better with Moylan on the park.

Campbell-Gillard is also a great thing you've got going too.

Tamou is shit.

All the best for your season

Good win really, I would like to say it's nice to see we have thrown the run it on the last every single time out the window! Might actually be useful running on the last now that we aren't super predictable.

Now we need to slowly increase the offloads and we might be heading somewhere....

RCG off the bench is a machine, the intensity is something we've missed this year with our interchange. Latu could learn something there.

Was also fantastic to see us use the outside, inside pass move for Cleary's second try when there was only one marker. The amount of times we have pre-planned that move instead of reading the game has been painful. Well done Katoa, RCG and Edwards for being ready.

Now to keep improving with 4 home games in a row with a dragons team in a tailspin above us on the ladder.

I have a feeling Brandy has influenced that. I hope he is working with them long term.

He has made 7 errors in 9 games.

Slightly different from the 10 in 5 shit you pulled out of your arse. But why actually look up stats before talking shit?

Kikau actually hurt people in defence.
He actually knocked people over when he ran.

Yeah he made errors. But maybe the coach benching him for 70 odd minutes forced him to try too hard to get more minutes. He was more effective when he got more minutes... hes not the only player trying to cram 40 minutes of footy into a bench cameo appearance and making errors.

We have blokes like Kikau and Akauolo who can hurt people both sides of the ball. And rather than focus on getting more out of them, the coach chooses to give more minutes to a bloke who hasnt made a dominant tackle in his life and couldnt bust a tackle running at a 5 year old.

Halves play better behind forwards that bend the line. Get offloads away. Scatter the defence. Draw in more players.

Nathan Cleary runs harder and hits harder than Browne.

The crazy thing is we don't stick with what works.

All year we have rarely done it. But it makes an appearance. Usually successfully yet we dont stick with it.

The only play you can count on making an appearance regularly is Cleary kicking it into space and leaving the opposition back 3 arguing over who is going to sacrifice themselves trying to take it.

Otherwise we don't seem to think. Oh shit that worked. Lets exploit it. Until Moylan moved to 6 we didnt ever seem to go for short kicks and since that was when Brandy teamed up with our halves, im sure its his influence.
