With the players left out, and if Whare doesn’t play, it could mean that all 17 players made their debuts at Penrith. That would have to be a first in the NRL!
Astute observation. Taking it one step further Whare is the only one of the 21 to debut for another club. Quite amazing really.

So forgot about Capewell. Hope he is out with injury. So ruins the feel good story.

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary has named his side to face North Queensland Cowboys in Women in League Round at Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Friday.

James Tamou, Api Koroisau and Zane Tetevano have been given the week off as the team sets out to claim the club's third minor premiership.

Mitch Kenny has been named at hooker, Moses Leota promoted the starting side, and Kurt Capewell and Jack Hetherington join the bench.
Dean Whare has been named in the reserves after overcoming a toe injury.

The Panthers will wear the 2020 Alternate Jersey.

As a Penrith Club fan(feel just as good when SG Ball win as I do when First grade win) happy to see only Mansour and Capewell did not make their NRL debut with Penrith.

Capewell debuted with Cronulla. 14 of the 17 are either fair dinkum Penrith Junior or played Junior Rep for Penrith, Mansour, Capewell and Kikua. Amazing

If I was a Cowboys prop and saw Hethro's name on the bench, I would be a bit nervous. I think he will be pumped up to crush, kill, destroy.

You hope a player is out with injury? That's rough.

Hopefully a few more a rested. Get Staines, Whare and Burton in there. Give us a solid 21 with some gametime for the finals

Pretty disappointed to see Jack named but he'll probably be suspended for the finals

At least if Thursto was still playing you could justify it. Give him 20 minutes to kill the guy and secure the game.

Seriously though I hope he doesn't get himself suspended again. He has something to offer.

It will be interesting to see how we go with all of these players being rested. Particularly given it is an away game. I don’t expect it to be easy for us - Cowboys put 20 points on the Storm last week.

I think Whare is next cab off the rank in centres you've got to give him a run the next week or so to give him some sort of match fitness. Otherwise maybe Clearys thinking Capewell comes in but even he is a few runs short at the moment.

That is my thinking behind needing a run. I think Naden would move to the wing before Staines comes in
