For discussion on the match.

They're calling this week rivalry round. Can somebody fill me in on where such a rivalry comes from? I thought it'd be Manly that our big rivalry would be.

I'm the same with you Ian. I thought it would have been manly for sure. I started following the knights in 1995 and I can't think of why we would get Canberra as our rival team.

NYC about to start

Will Smith to fullback, Mitch Williams and Herman in centres,

Halves as per program (Roberts and Api - making his debut)

Missed the rest of the team lineup but will update as I go along :)

They've been reading LU gameday threads :sarcasm:

I agree with Noname though. Seems like the case.

Knight is getting another run at hooker too

McMillan into 2nd row

Neenan Simpson back to bench, Cook and Finn onto the bench in #18 and #20

No Clacherty, Brendon Simpson or Davis

Cordner off after a head clash, Finn comes on

Finn makes a good strong run at the Canberra hooker (perhaps a little lazy of the Canberra defence to not help the guy out), then offloads to Roberts to runs 20m to score.

13 mins gone Knights NYC 6-0

Edit: I've noticed lately that Roberts is good at supporting the props for offloads, and very good at supporting on the inside when theres line breaks out wide as well - thats 6 tries in 5 weeks now for him.

It's a fine day down here albeit a little chilly. Nice and sunny with no clouds and little to no wind. Should be a very open game. Can't wait!

Chris Knight goes for his first zippy dummy half run, and nearly makes a line break straight off!

Raiders have scored twice, both after good sets...Will Smith has been caught out a little bit positionally at fullback I think, especially after he was caught relatively close to our defensive line as the Canberra #7 smacked a 40/20 over his head and well to the side.

Finn has been going hard since coming off the bench

Means has made 20 tackles in the first half hour, Raiders 22-6

Cook makes a great hit, the guy bumps away, then flops on top of the tackle. Raiders score again (after a bounce off the posts) on the next set.

Neenan is on, Means is off and Smith is in the centres...so I guess that means Herman has moved to the 2nd row.

Cook puts a grubber through on the 4th tackle, taps it a 2nd time, Knight picks it up, then offloads to Api, who draws and passes to Mitch Williams who scores in the corner...interesting play there but I'll pay it!

Raiders 22-10 at half time.

Knight scores, after Will Smith and Tetavano do some good work down the right hand side, Raiders 28-16

Roberts boots a drop out 63m on the fly! And then we keep the Raiders out for the 3rd consecutive set, Neenan picks up the grubber in-goal and gets back into the field of play.

Cordner back on

Herman somehow gets the ball down in the corner, Will Smith converts from the sideline (with a strong crosswind!)

Canberra 28-22

Raiders win 29-22, had the best field position (and slightly more possession) throughout the game so not a bad result at all given those stats. Also we missed less tackles than the Raiders.
