Well my fellow Rabbitohs faithful get your colours on and get a spring in your step! I sure have a spring in my step that’s right it’s Game Day as we take on a bitter rival of ours the Manly Sea Eagles. It’s a strong rivalry and both sets of supporter bases don’t like each other. We played them in round 1 in Vegas and went down and that one stung so it would be nice to get one back over them tonight on our home turf. We have turned the corner I’d like to think but we need to keep building on that and getting better. We can not turn up tonight and take Manly lightly otherwise they’ll pull our pants down. It would be nice going into the bye to get a 4th win on the trot and keep building that momentum. It has been a bit wet in Sydney overnight and this morning but only the odd shower from here I think and it’s starting to fine up. Saturday Night footy cmon Souths faithful get your warm jackets beanies and scarves out and get behind the boys in the best way possible. Also Junior Appreciation round tonight so I would like to think we can get 13-14k out there. We have no home game at Accor for about 6-7 weeks after this so let’s all get out there in numbers and make plenty of noise!

Looking at Manly they sit inside the bottom of the top 8 and for the most part have been pretty good especially in attack this year. Last week they played with no interchange bench the whole second half and blew away the Dragons despite their injuries. Whilst they have so many out we can not take them lightly young Lehi at the back is playing well and Koula, Saab, Talau offer so much pace out wide we need to be alert as they’ll target our edges no doubt at all about that. They have Brooks there still and Lawton who will be dangerous and Burbo, Waddell, Sipley, N. Brown and Bullemor so they still have solid forwards there. Seibs will have them in siege mentality mode I expect that nobody gives them a chance etc and if we are slightly off they’ll hurt us for sure! Where Manly can be vulnerable too is out wide so if we show patience we should get some solid scoring opportunities. For us well we need to keep turning up 1-17 keep doing those effort areas well and showing desperation in defence. I want to see good energy too in defence and we need get our kick chase going etc and be patient points will come. We need to limit the offloads of Manly too as much as we can. If our pack can win the battle it’ll give the likes of Damien, Jack and Cody good opportunities. Keaon we will need a massive game from him I know he can do it again. Also it’s nice to have Jye Gray back he just needs to do his job we all know the talent he has and can do this job for us tonight. Also shout out to Liam Le Blanc who has worked hard for this. We all know the issues he’s had with his heart etc this year and it’s inspiring he’s back playing and gets to show what he’s got tonight. I am sure he won’t let us down. Go well Blancy we are all behind you mate!

Please welcome onto Accor stadium our junior footy clubs on their march around Accor Stadium here for junior appreciation Round lets give them a warm round of applause as they go around Accor Stadium here. We have some future stars in these youngsters no doubt about that!

Ok not long til the players come out here onto Accor Stadium. Another shout out again to all the juniors here for junior appreciation round in fact great to see such a good turnout on this cold chilly winter night tonight. Great to see so much Red and Green in the stands here this Saturday Night for our Mighty South Sydney Rabbitohs looking to make it 4 on the trot and keep the momentum going. Let’s make sure wherever anyone may be watching that they know that this is South Sydney home turf and a South Sydney home game. Let’s get that South Sydney chant going for the full 80mins around Accor Stadium here tonight. Lets do all that we can to make sure our boys walk away with the 2 vital competition points and let’s be that extra man for our boys in the stands by doing our part!

Ok as we look down the tunnel at the Rabbitohs home ground we can see the visitors making their way down the tunnel……….. Rabbitohs members and Rabbitohs supporters please give a warm South Sydney welcome to the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles……………

Cody will GK. Shaq just started running.

Tatola gone for year and Campbell and Munro mightn’t be back have to be careful with them Hornby sa
Graham is a vital player.
I would like to know has he had a bone graft or titanium screws inserted into his sternum? If so it usually takes three months to stick because I had a large molar implant done and the surgeon will not permit the replacement tooth to be inserted until at least 3 months has elapsed for the titanium screw to attach firmly to the mandible. Bone grafts are either synthetic or animal based and can also take several months to fully knit with adjoining/existing bone. Graham may need to convince himself. Once the surgeon clears for take off its up to yourself.
Graham is correct to err on the side of caution but as weeks pass after you get the green light your mind can take over in a negative manner.
Didn't Tatola have a fractured metatarsal? That is usually 8-9 weeks at most. Given his lengthy absence thus far, it must have involved ligament surgery too. His playing future here may also be in doubt.

Damien and Keaon were our best. Pete I wasn’t impressed with tonight suspect in defence and when he came on we looked like we were missing something at hooker. Being live at the game could also Pete passes were a bit slower than Damien and were a bit loopy not as crisp slower service. That’s areas Pete needs to work on especially his service and defence. He wasn’t bad but not good either.

Late reaction to the game as I went straight to bed after fulltime last night. But yooooohoooooo!!! Another win, our fourth in a row, and against one of our biggest rivals. Holding them scoreless for the first time in 75 years no less, that's quite the feat!

It certainly wasn't a pretty one that's for sure. One of those real tough, gritty wins where you just win ugly. But sometimes, that's what it takes and a win's a win. When you're missing Origin players and playing in those sorts of conditions, you take it any way you can get it, and we'll certainly take that. I'm over the moon.

That win was all toughness and effort. We certainly weren't at our best, far from it even, but the boys made up for that with the effort they showed. No doubt the weather played its part, but we certainly didn't click. In terms of errors, I think we did really well there given the conditions, that was impressive, but it was more just that the attack was clunky and didn't fire at all. The timing looked a bit off and it was a little bit reminiscent of our bad times in attack this year if I'm honest. However, I'm not too worried, it was just one of those games. We still did enough to win and that's all that matters.

The defence was obviously the highlight. A massive highlight. I know Manly are missing a shit load of players, and a lot of their stars weren't there, but they still had a decent side and to hold any NRL team to nil at any time is and achievement to be proud of. Constant effort there, constant turning up for one another and I saw some real hunger in our defensive intent, it was so great to see.

Once again, this is another game that kind of proves how far we've come recently, for different reasons of course. A good team is one that can win when they're not at their best and win ugly, we did that last night. Hornby was right in his presser, we looked a bit tired and like we were running on empty, like the last few weeks have taken its toll but we still went out there and got the job done! Stoked with it.

Keaon was our best. What a monumental effort through the middle once again. Gray was awesome on return again and it was so good to see him get his first try. Cooky stood up and had a strong game in a tough week for him as he laid on two tries, Moale had a real stormer, and Tommy and Tallis provided some real momentum off the bench.

Cody certainly had an off night but thankfully it didn't hamper us.

Tough and gritty win lads, we can all celebrate that one, that's what Souths are built on!!! Another two points in the bag and our resurgence continues. We can now really enjoy the bye, take a break and then get into it again.

Yoooohoooooo!!! Well done lads!

Glory, Glory.

Got to give Dave Furner a rap after 3 weeks in a row of excellent defence and our first shut out in ages. Results weren't instantaneous when he lobbed, as you would expect, but they're showing now with great team work and desperation in our scrambling to keep turning up in numbers.

Well done to date.

The Wayne effect might have something to do with it too.

And Demetriou not being the defense coach might also have something to do with it.
