Saab will be a gun, but this is the wrong game to play him.

Lomax is not a winger.

Aitken is a turnstile, not a centre.

Tariq has been ordinary all year and yet he starts.

Happy to see Kerr given more time.

Disappointed Timm hasn't been given an opportunity. His form in CC has warranted a call-up.

Don't see Dufty as an effective super sub. If he isn't picked as a starter, he should play CC.

Mary remains stubborn as ever, choosing to maintain his preferred centre combination.

Hope Widdop doesn't dislocate his shoulder again.

My heart says Saints by 10. My head says Souths by 30.

1.Dufty 2.Pearson 3.Lomax 4. Ravalawa 5. Saab and Norman can ride the year out on the bench as cover for fullback or halves. I still would like to see Pearson outside someone who can create before totally dismissing him. Rava if he does have a weakness it’s under the highball, move him in one and that helps, plus he appears to have a passing game why not give him a go. Saab outside Aitken is a waste and from what I’ve seen he is not a monster coming out of trouble although young, but outside Aitken that’s all he will be doing. Lomax is not super fast and more a creator of tries, he’s wasted on the wing. Normy is not explosive enough at fullback and Dufty had a good game last start.

1. Lomax
2. Pearson
3. Ravalawa
4. Norman
5. Saab
6. Widdop
7. Hunt

I think this is the strongest backline we can put on the field right now.

Marys borrowed Freddie’s Lamas, had the lads walking barefoot at Penrith to soak up the meth and stale lager in their toes.

The way this side is going, there will be a struggle for about 30 mins, cook and Roberts will be marched and the bunnies will put 16-24 on you.

In your darkest hour, it’s good to know your chairman is getting a suntan in Europe.

Coyne would make for a good diplomat for North Korea or Iran.

Pretty much sums up most fans thoughts I’d say.

Better backline than what we're putting out for this one. I'd swap Norman and Lomax but agree it would be interesting to see how Rava goes in the centres. If Rava misses a few tackles it's no different to what we have now but it appears he may have a passing game which would be a nice change.

You know if mary had any brains and as he puts it Benny & Rav need a mental rest, why dont you rest them from training for a couple of weeks?. Playing 80 mins a week and a captains run would not hurt them.

Even though he said he was resting Rav yesterday I am not convinced that is how the 17 will start and that Rav still an outside chance to start...well I am hoping anyway. Dufty to 18th man Euie to bench to become a 10 minute a half battering ram for us instead of a 40 minute a half

McGregor is making it up as he stumbles along.
Coming out after the event and rationalizing Hunt's omission last week under the guise of "player welfare" just shows what an imposter he is.
If he was really that concerned about player welfare, he would have used the bench better over the last 4 5 seasons and not flogged our forwards to exhaustion playing his famous bush footy "Power Game".
What irks me more than anything else this year - after you cut through all BS and the excuses - is our defence.
Conceding an average of 24 points a game is an indefensible fact.
Even if half your team were injured, there is no excuse for that statistic for a club like St. George.
That is akin to hoisting the white flag.
If Johnston and the Board would deal with facts instead of excuses and fluff, they would sack this ring in and turn the page.

That’s right.

With the Souths game before you, on the eve of being slaughtered by your ex coach, I’m afraid to say it but in the modern Mary era

“ The Charity Shield is Saints grand final”

Souths get a roll on with cook et, a running Roberts and Murray backing up like Steve Menzies, and their passing game, Reynolds kicks...you are staring down the barrel of another catastrophic loss.

Anything less than a 3 try flogging by the rabbits would represent a marked improvement and cause for hearty celebration.

This is life under Mary.

Rava went alright for Fiji ay centre in the test match.

At least he can pass...

I like this.

It minimises the turnstile effect to 10 minutes as well...

Well game day has finally here and I'm #excited at the prospect of another loss against a traditional rival who really enjoys winning against us.
