Round 2 2016 v Souths Game discussion

On one side you have rookie winger and centre who have had no attack targeted at them, on the other you have 2 state of origin players who are being targeted and dominated. Neither of them can read the attack, uate has come in all 3 times.

Souths have done their homework and have decided to target the experienced guys over the rookies. That basically says they see uate and gagai as bigger weaknesses than our rookies on the other side. Very sad.

Are you even watching the game?????

He's standing too far in because the rest of the f**king team are all standing too far in and not sliding.

Even if he stayed out he and Gagai were already 4 on 2 - all Souths would have done is score closer to the posts.

Are you watching the game? Did you see the replays of those tries and see how he was STANDING STILL waiting for the attack to get to him?

f**king apologists...

Turn it up on Uate. He jinked inwards, then stops and waits till Walker hits the ball before moving up! He should have been moving up when GI had the ball. Had he pushed up Walker has less time in the ball to read his outside runners.

Anyone blaming Uate for any of those tries has no idea, Gagai is continually letting players get on the outside which gives Uate no choice. He has to take the man with the ball and Gagai is so slow to react in cover and just stays where he is until it's to late.

I'm way more positive about being down 24 nil with this group of rookies. Last year's team would have still been down 24 nil and we had players that were at their peak with no potential upside.

The problem with the defence on the right side is starting from Hodgkinson who is coming up and in and is far too late to do so and the same happening with Gagai. Cannot blame Uate for those tries, it is the 2 merkins inside him who are being shown up on how not to defend in your own 20.

This would be the worst side in Knights history. Rochow has been a joke and Mataora has again been showed up for his lack of fitness and ability.

Mataora might be the pick of the forwards for me.
Or safiti.

Mullen and hodko are playing like they met for the first time n on the bus to the ground. Zero timing.

Attack is looking OK, and would look better if they can hang on to the ball. They are just killing themselves in mistakes and defence...

Mullen and Hodkinson just aren't up to it. Unfortunately it's a common trait in our experienced players.

The defence isn't good at all from the team as a whole - that whole side needs to get their shit together.

Gagai and Uate are the senior players out there - have to take some ownership.

The Fox Sports guys tend to agree - perhaps because they aren't seeing it through blue and red tinted glasses?

It doesn't matter how senior they are - they're the f**king centre and winger - they're going to get stranded if the blokes inside of them aren't doing their job properly.

Usually i think Aku's defence is shocking but this is clearly not his fault what's happened this game.

And lol - you mean the Fox Sports guys that just said that Gagai was our best last week? Yep - they're words should always be taken as gospel.

My God Feeney's handelling is woeful.

I'm very happy to give him time to learn the fullback role but he should at least be able to handle the ball.

Oh look - Aku is injured.

Don't worry guys - I'm sure everything will be fine now.

The worst thing about aku getting injured is that the japs would probably back out of the deal, leaving us stuck with the worst centre-wing combo in the league

Agreed about Feeney, needs time in the #1 Jersey but wow his handling has been so poor.

Just as I say that Johnston scores a try he wouldn't come close to scoring against any other team. Awful tackle attempts from Ross, Mullen and Feeney. No one even tried there at all.

Feeney isn't up to first grade. He can't keep being selected surely...
