Don't know if Griffin will make too drastic a change - I.e. I don't see Smith moving away from FB until Moylan comes back

He'll probably go with something like the below... This isn't the team I'd have but it's what I can see Griffin doing - I really don't expect to see TMM in the team until Griffins hand is forced.

Smith
Mansour
Whare
Hiku
DWZ
Soward
Wallace
McKendry
Taylor
RCG
Cartwright
Yeo
Merrin

Peachy
Matagi
Latimore
JFH

My guess at what the side will be:

1. Smith
2. Mansour
3. Hiku
4. Whare
5. DWZ
6. Soward
7. Wallace
8. Mckendry
9. Peachey
10. RCG
11. Cartwright
12. Yeo
13. Merrin

14. Taylor
15. JFH
16. Latimore
17. Matagi

18. TMM (to replace Taylor on game day)

Might be ZDC at 18. But I think we will name Taylor and replace him with a rookie at the last minute.

Playing Moylan would be pretty dumb seeing there is almost a ten day benefit for playing in Round 3. Think this one could pretty close. Can see us sneaking home by 2 if our forwards step up more than anyone. Both hookers and fullbacks out for both teams too.

This is a big test for the forwards, it would be really tempting to put ET at hooker just to have another solid defender in the middle, but I think peachey there is worth a try. He could actually be pretty dangerous and defensively should be ok.

Will we recover after having one day less than the Dogs?

The heat from Saturday didn't do us any favours either.Maybe just maybe one day the Dogs might get a shit draw.

Id like to remove my suggestion of Wallace to hooker after seeing Gordon Talis agree with me on the Matty Johns Show.

My rationale. If Moylan is back in Round 3 we might as well keep the backline consistent. Whare in for Blake when he's ready. If Katoa is due back soon, maybe it'd be worth trying Peach for a game, otherwise I think we need to stick with the only bloke who has any sort of credentials there. There's a shit load more to hooker than solid defence and having some speed. Mckendry needs to go for a spell. I think the Dogs are the perfect side to debut Martin. He could rip them up.

1. Will Smith
2. Josh Mansour
3. Peta Hiku
4. Waqa Blake/Dean Whare
5. Dallin Watene-Zelsniak
6. Te Maire Martin
7. Jamie Soward
8. Reagan Campbell-Gillard
9. Peter Wallace
10. Trent Merrin
11. Isaah Yeo
12. Bryce Cartwright
13. Elijah Taylor
14. Tyrone Peachey
15. Leilani Latu
16. Suaia Matagi/JFH/Chris Smith
17. Jeremy Latimore

Katoa is due back next week. I'd give him a week in NSW Cup then bring him in if we are struggling there. Ideally TMM gets a start and we leave it as is til Seg's back. Though I can't see the halves pairing being broken up sadly

Agree, should be Peachy it would be a big test for him but also a positive statement (versus white flag - Wallace/ET &/or inexperience and blooding to early for ZDC/SK etc.)

Early mail. Not that is much.

Panthers: James Segeyaro’s injury puts the Panthers in a bind as they have no designated back up hooker. Sione Katoa made his first grade debut last season but is currently sideline by injury, which means the Panthers must choose between Soni Luke (who won man of the match in last year’s Under 20s grand final) and Zach Dockar-Clay if they want to select a specialist hooker. If Griffin wants to go with a makeshift option he could throw Elijah Taylor and Tyrone Peachey into the role and if he really wants to upset fans he could move Wallace to hooker and give a first grade debut to Te Maire Martin. Dean Whare will return at right centre for Waqa Blake but Matt Moylan is still a week or two away.

haha. Who wrote that? Luke's out. Also fans won't care if Wallace is hooker. Far better there then halfback
