We are missing the key to our success at present; but when GI comes back,& we get our best side on the paddock, our side will function smoothly again;especially the backline who are "lost" without his leadership!!

I agree Doyen we just have hit a bit of a flat patch. Better now than in 3 weeks!!

You could notice last night @callmack1 how we missed GI a lot! GI makes a big difference to that left edge too!! I know I said we should move GI to the back but that would weaken our left edge.... best off probs leaving AJ back there. Whatever happens Seibs will know what to do!

We will be much better with GI back and I'd like him to be allowed to roam the field when he comes back and pop up a couple of times in the middle...

I honestly believe Reynolds is our problem.
His general play kicking, not the high ones but those 2 half grubber BS ones that put no pressure on parra no repeat sets his not running until near the end is screwing us.

I believe he was worried about kicking the ball dead which happened a couple of times which gives seven tackles so I believe that was playing on his mind.

I believe he will get better from that and get back to the precision we know he has...

I disagree. I havent seen anything for 2 months that suggests we are an elite team. Maybe GI’s return is the missing piece, but we won’t know that until he’s back. The Storm just beat a reasonably good Raiders 44-10. That’s what a contender looks like.

The Raiders were shithouse. Didn't Leilua have one of the shockers of the year??...

Not to mention a 14-4 penalty count to the Storm. I'm surprised it wasn't more actually......

We were an elite team, about 5 games ago. But coaches have worked us out. Now is the time for Sebs to prove he’s a coach worthy of a contract extension and capable of adapting our game plan for finals footy.

We've only lost one game in the past 8 wks---- 4 of them without our best player & Capt. That's a great effort under the circumstances;with SOO duties[4 players] & GI missing for an extended period. Great team effort really!!

Don’t get me wrong Doyen. I’m over the moon with how this season is going. But when we are beating the 15th place Cowboys by 1 point (twice) and give up a 14 point lead (and an AJ finger tip away from a 20 point lead and a loss) to the 16th place team, I’m not impressed. Not when the Storm and kicking arse and the Roosters are beating a top 4 team by 18. IMO we are not in those 2 teams class right now.

Storm v Rorters top 2 looking very likely and for the Grand Final as well!!

We need to be more clinical and quick smart.

Compare the fullbacks from their teams and us having AJ and we have a big problem! AJ gets ragdolled and his impact isn't too good! It's solid but that won't cut it!

In fact I'm gonna say with AJ at fullback we won't make the GF. I'd love him to prove me wrong there. He's nowhere near the class of Slater or Tedesco @callmack1.

Our backline strength could very imo cost us making the big dance...

Not with AJ at fullback let me tell you that right now.... especially after watching Tedesco and Slater this weekend...

I also feel Cronk and Munster are superior in the halves for their side compared to what we have!!

Doyen as I said in another thread AJ ain't in the class of Tedesco or Slater. He ain't gonna create magic or stop tries like GI can. When GI is back I'd put him into fullback and I think after our next two weeks Seibs will see it must happen.... I'd be slotting Jennings in at left centre and going with AJ on the left wing...

Those Eels and Bulldogs games were far from impressive to me. We were heaps behind once again against the Eels and were far from elite against the Dragons. I agree that those Sharks and Warriors wins were really good ones, but they were all the way back in May. I really hope you’re right and GI makes an immediate impact. I want 22.
