Good Work Hog.

I am new to this forum and have been following every bit of it.
I put money on NRL every week. made a profit of 300 this weekend and similar the last few weeks. Amazing how much money you guys bet. I will have to increase my stakes as well. very interesting... Anyways till next thursday. the next 6 rounds to the finals will be very easy money.

Yeh id say im a casual punter starting to get into it a bit more however works out well trade shares mon-fri ( my real job ) and then have the sport to bet on weekends.

Learning bankroll management and make appropriate bet sizes is the key to punting. Making bets with positive expectation comes next. Picking winners is of no concern at all. Neither is outright bet size - better to express the bets in terms of units, rather that $$$$.

Hint: betting only what you can afford to lose will guarantee you will be a longtime loser.

Nice. Be careful with your bankroll though, if your betting big ammounts of it youre destined to fail. IMO, anything more than 5% per bet is too much.

I am suggesting you needs to set limits lower than 'what you can afford to lose' - have a proper bankroll strategy. Let's say you have one hundred bucks to 'lose'. You take that attitude, and bet like that, you will likely be a long-term loser.

Yes the word " lose " sounds bad but thats the reality of gambling you are bound to lose and the way you accept the loss goes a long way to becoming a more experianced gambler a good way of doing this is keeping a spread sheet where you can put down all your bets and review those bets to see what you could of / should of changed.
