The NRL needs to step in and really tighten their rules when it comes to media reporting as the journos seem to not care about the impact their stories have to the player as long as they are getting clicks. Pretty sad. Without the players they have no job so they should protect them especially in times like this. Managers leaking stories to get interest from clubs should then have their license revoked. The NRL should not see this as acceptable.
I understand the sentiment, but gee that is a slippery slope when you start banning media. Ultimately, the responsibility is on us, the consumer. And unfortunately, us as the consumer have not evolved and we click on, read and share every clickbait article.
Shame about Molo - whatever his circumstances may be , he had absolutely no right to walk out on his contract with the Dragons .
This is the crux of the issue, no one knows if he does have a right to walk out or not. There's a lot of simplified views on the issue on this forum and generally throughout social media - One would assume there is a intersection between the Club and NRL's legislated obligations for a safe workplace and what is considered a safe workplace in the terms of professional sport. Molo is allegedly claiming a workplace injury. It was only a matter of time until something like this was tested and of course, the only Club it was going to occur at was the Dragons...

I’d go one further and say it’s impossible to ban media from reporting. I think what you can do though as an organisation is make statements to the media explaining there is a player welfare issue which requires medical support and request the media show some compassion and restraint. Basically show some leadership here.

Hopefully the younger players show good form in the trials which would make releasing Molo a bit more attractive. If we release him, I don't want him playing against us this year. I wouldn't be surprised if we told the manager we'd be open to releasing him if he found us a suitable replacement.

I know Bennett has mentioned Souths were trying to get a few players off their books due to a tight salary cap but failed to do so. I wonder if there's a forward we could nab? Maybe a davey moale (off contract 25) or sean keppie (off contract 26)?

I have to admit I am the first to throw shot on Lomax and call him a Prima Donna big seeing him at the game today to support Cody Ramsey just earned a lot of respect in my books.
That's what mates do, wouldn't expect anything less. Lawrie and Lomax visited him in hospital regularly
