Poor Reed Mahoney looks devastated.

Personally I would bring Nathan back for Tigers and Parra and then first week of the finals. If we can win tomorrow without him we have effectively locked up top 3.
I thought we'd cruise in and ease him in but Luai has totally failed. I was sure he was going to own the side but yeah he's not the player we thought

On the bright side neither is Burton.

He's a fantastic centre. But he's not the best of the 3 as Gus claimed earlier in the year. Cleary is by far the best of the 3 and Luai is the perfect partner for him even if Burton becomes the better player.

Wish we kept him for centre though.

Same price for both and I'd keep Burton easy

I just come to warn you guys about this.
Rest Nathan till last rnd. Then give him a 40min hit out. Maybe even the last 2 x games.

Keep him for finals.

Parra are done. Coach is cooked and id love to take Ciraldo as an assistant to Wayne for 2yrs with the keys for 2024.

Anyhows I look forward to a strong finish to the season for the Panthers

Maybe it’s just me but Luai prior to his injury alongside Nathan was fine and dandy.

They were a combination and for the first half of this season were in fact the best halves combination.

Sadly both got injured around SOO and we are suffering because of it.

Jerome is not a dominant half, never was and never will be.

He hasn’t failed at all, he sustained an MCL injury, his half partner sustained a serious shoulder injury and shit happens. It is what is, Jerome needs Nathan to do what he does best.

We get it mate you don’t rate Luai.

On Edwards, if he is out he is surely running out of time to earn fullback money for his next contract with us. He’s out so much and just can’t string the games together to build form

Whod have thought at the start of the season that Staines would be the last man standing in our backline 5 months into the season.

We look a lot better with Api and Yeo in the side... people forget how much they do for the attack

I'd also argue that Nathan needs Jerome as well; he provides x-factor that helps give Nathan space. They are a very good pair.

I don’t agree mate.

At the end of the day our season was largely dependent on having our best 17 fit and available.

I’m really accepting of the fact our luck has deserted us, there is no one to blame, not the coach, not individual players, just misfortune.

Just maybe, if we can hang on and secure 2nd or 3rd, going into September maybe, just maybe our luck can change but the momentum is against us.

When Nathan's career was at the same stage as Luai's he was a myth who was rubbish in comparison to wonderkid Ponga. Was going to be doing well to get to Mitchell Pearce level.

Writing Luai off after a quiet month coming back from injury and his first SOO campaign is pretty silly.

That’s fine mate, but at the end of the day most sides need there best player and as it stands our best and most influential player is out injured. We simply aren’t a threat in this competition without Nathan Cleary 100% fit and healthy.

Burton should be the 7. That is more his style

People like to compare pre origin and now. Our attack looks best when Api gets it. Engages the defence. Then quick pass to Yeo who straightens up then draws a defender and goes behind a decoy.

That then gives the 7 time and space. Martin and Staines 2nd try v Warriors are both proof.

For the Martin try.
Api gets it goes to Yeo.
Yeo has JFH on his shoulder dummies and goes behind him.
Cut out pass to May who puts Martin into a gap. There were 3 other options if Martin was marked up.

For the Staines try
Api gets it to Yeo
Yeo draws at defender. Martin runs the decoy
Ball goes to May. Who has Edwards, Crichton or Staines to pick from.

That is the shape and structure we have lacked the last 2 weeks

Kilkenny I totally agree.

Storm last weekend were very good. We were poor on a lot of levels, Luai is two games back from a knee injury.

I'm not predicting miracles but I believe this week we will be better. Even if we defend better, that allows us to stay in the game.

Following week hopefully Nathan, TPJ back (depending on hub stuff) and then the Fish comes back.

Some of the comments here had me going back and rechecking that we weren't in 7th place.
