I meant to say the starting forward pack but yes you're right.

Still, 13 out of the 17 players being Penrith produced is amazing. Clubs like the Roosters could only dream of such a thing!

Roosters develop a lot of players. Similar to the way we picked up Yeo, CHN, JFH, Edwards and Blake. Brought them into our system around the age of 17-18.

Yeah I seem to remember their premiership team had a lot of guys who had come through their system.

Pretty sure most if not all of those were developed by the Roosters.

The Roosters have now formed a strategic partnership with the Central Coast where they are investing a lot of time and money growing RL in the area.

This is a simply brilliant idea by the Roosters as they have a small territory to work with in the Eastern Suburbs they have managed to secure one of the largest Junior Leagues to compliment it.

This partnership has already delivered Latrell Mitchell and Connor Watson to them.

While that is a great move from the rorters(I live on the central coast) Latrell is from Taree, he was looked at by the knights and bulldogs before the roosters. Was he playing or going to school on the coast?

Yep I am aware that Latrell is originally from Taree.

However he played for Erina and the Central Coast Centurions Harold Matts team in 2013. I remember watching him play at Penrith Stadium in 2013. His team was outclassed but he still looked very good.

Fair enough, still hard to believe two clubs passed on him, Newcastle especially, an indigeneous kid from Taree making it big with the knights would be a great story for them.

Don't agree re; Leota at all. I think he can cause problems around the middle of the ruck with his changes of direction. I can see him growing into a Merrin type for us.

He's still extremely young & inexperienced for a middle forward, no idea why people are writing him off, especially when he's been so dominant for the NSW Cup side.
Leota pulled off two great ball and all tackles in the first half.1st was on Ryan James at the kick-off,the 2nd was on their number 20.

Depends on what you class as 'Penrith Juniors'

We helped develop Yeo, CHN, JFH, Blake and Edwards but they aren't locals.

Local juniors are DWZ, Cartwright, May, Cleary, Wallace, Campbell-Gillard and Katoa,
I think we got Katoa from the Roosters who at one stage sent players to Glenmore Park to play some footy

Final word with Hook. Main takeaway is Carty to stay in the forwards:

http://www.penrithpanthers.com.au/news/2017/07/26/final_word_with_hook.html
We needed him to have this injury then.

If he stays fit he stays at 6 and Moylan never moves which means Edwards isn't in the team.

As a result, Moylan is now developing in the halves. Edwards is developing in the NRL and Cartwright can focus on being a second rower/lock.

I look forward to Cartwright running lines and popping offloads for Edwards. I think that will be when Edwards truly looks like a superstar. Should start racking up linebreaks and tries.

I look forward to it. Edwards is made for that style of play. Carty will look like a world beater as well.

He is a good defender for sure. I think he will come on eventually, not every kid hits the ground running in first grade.

If he pulls up OK tomorrow, expect Cartwright to play. Leota or Katoa 18th man.

Whare will play ISP.

Given the lack of ball our centres get. I was hoping Whare would play and Peachey would be used around the middle terrorising the big Bulldogs forwards.

I think our centres will see a lot more ball this last part of the season, its already happening.

Yep. They started trying to change it in the souths game and we've seen it come along since. I wonder if Brandy is getting a lot of influence in attack or if Griffin is trying to slowly increase the difficulty of our attack.
